I remember when this place opened about 10 years ago. It was pricey for the area as there was only the San Angel there at about 30% less and a great place to stay.||Today, the RP prices are competitive with or better than other hotels in Hermsillo, particularly those on hotel row in east Hermosillo.||The RP carries a reputation of elegance in Hermosillo. It accomplishes that at a better price than a lot of established places. I stayed here 3 nights and found it...well...fine. Kind of forgettable really. And I don't know why. Room was fine. Restaurant was fine. Parking was fine. Service was fine. Ummm...it was fine.||The great thing about the RP is that it is minutes to the airport. The east side hotel row was established when car traffic drove the hotel scene as it is located on the highway to Nogales. Today, the airport is the catalyst to new hotels on the west side. Before it was only the San Angel on this side. But now there is a range of places from the cheap and perfectly fine El Dorado, the completely comfortable San Angel or the vanilla Holiday Inn...all within minutes of the airport.||I'll likely only stay there again if I need to impress some local politician. Otherwise the value for peso aspect of hotels kicks in for me and I'll end up back at the San Angel again for a place close to the airport.||Hate to end on a negative...but the bar needs to move out of the 1950s Rat Pack atmosphere. Windowless and dark with red plastic sofas that cannot be used for more than 10 minutes for all the reasons sitting on plastic should not be done. Lose the live music. The place is not big enough for that. And Dude at the bar...lighten up buddy! Stop making your job look like a prison sentence and I might actually give you a better tip. This bar is the only one around but it is only 10 minutes and a designated drive away from...
Read moreWe stayed here on a friend's recommendation because we had an 8:15 am flight the following morning and wanted to get to the airport 2 hours before, as was required. I have stayed in other hotels in Hermosillo and this was not the best, nor was it as convenient as we had hoped.||Good:||Convenient location near airport. Group taxi from airport back to hotel cost us 350 pesos I think (6 of us in a van) ||Bar was nice - friendly helpful server and top shelf Havana Club rum.||Bad:||Restaurant was very crowded and Sun pm music was way too loud.||The attractive pool and hot tub area were not open.||Mattresses had plastic/rubber coverings that were very uncomfortable - made the bed too hot to sleep comfortably and made noise every time you turned over.||We had understood that there was a free shuttle to the airport, it turned out not to be available when we had to leave at 6 am and apparently wasn't available either for our return. So when they claim to have a "free shuttle to the airport" it turned out not to work out for us. They wanted to charge us 100 pesos per day per car to leave our cars in the secure parking lot while we were away - since we were 3 rooms and 2 cars, we negotiated a slightly better rate.||I have heard that some hotels in HMO offer up to a week's free parking if you stay there on your way to or from your air travel destination.||I know other hotels in HMO that would be as good or better for overnight before...
Read moreI have a lot of postives. The rooms were nice and well kept. They offer shower robes and shower slippers. The mini fridge was stocked for added convenience. They also offer room service from the restaurant. The shower was huge. I loved that. The service was also top-notch they were attentive and helpful. The pool was clean, and the front lobby was beautiful. The parking was also safe and secure.
I would have given 5 stars, but the a/c units are outdated and don't keep the temperature as well as a mini-split unit. We were changed rooms because the first room unit wasbt working right and wouldn't cool below 85 and that was too hot. The next room was better. But even then it wasn't as cool as I wanted. Which other hotels easily accommodate. I'm hopeful these were just these 2 rooms,...
