Location of this hotel is great, in the forest next to a big river with very nice waterfalls on the premises.||Rooms were good - though a bit damp, as to be expected - but the airco worked like a charm. Rooms are situated 2 by 2 in little houses so we had 2 connecting rooms (1 for us and 1 for the kids) under one roof - which was perfect. All rooms have big windows to enjoy the nice scenery and nature.||||Food in the restaurant was acceptable but not very tasty and there's only 1 option on the menu every night - which is a pity since you can't go anywhere else for diner. Breakfast was ok with a nice fresh juice every morning (same watered up juices they serve across the whole region).||||Activities were great except for the 'nature' walk which was a ridiculous waste of time and basically consisted of a walk around the activities areas with no animal sightings whatsoever. If you want to see animals make sure to hang out around the reception area until the staff starts feeding the monkeys in the morning.||||Canopy tour is a thrill and also our 11 and 13 year old loved it.||But they loved the 'commando trail' even better - especially the parts where you go down the waterfalls. Staff is really friendly, patient and helpful though they don't speak much English so you should look closely when they show you how to do things and try and repeat what they're doing.||||We had a nice swim afterwards and the kids loved to climb and play in the different cascades and pools.||In the evening the staff lit a small bonfire for us which was really nice with some...

The arrival to this hotel (by boat) is stunning. The location, next to a river, with amazing waterfalls and surrounded by nature is outstanding. The rooms are simple but very nice. However, our expectations were definitely not met. According to the website and phone calls with the hotel reservations number, we would be offered a range of food options every day (and the menu they sent looked amazing) but instead there was a set menu and the options for non-meat eaters were non-existent. They tried to accommodate our needs the next day but the food was bad. In terms of activities, the walk they promised, that included seeing animals and a butterfly reserve was just a short walk to show us the area, with no animals to be seen except the horses that you can ride. In terms of "bathing", the pools that are formed under the waterfalls were very cold and hard to get into. There are sandbags there to help form the pools but they don't help much, especially if you are travelling with young children. The hotel was almost empty (during December peak season) and they set us up next to the only room that was occupied, which shared a door. The night activities (which promised a bonfire) were also non-existent. So all in all, it's a place with great potential but it really...
