Rio Vista Inn — Hotel in Tamaulipas

My wife and I stayed the Rio Vista Inn in Tampico from 3/5 through 3/9. Tampico is a big city with many hotel options. I am glad we were able to pick one of the best. To avoid a long read, I will touch on a few of the positives. Before I start, the entire city was safe. There were no safety issues. I'm not saying they don't exist, but we saw none. 3 night stay in April 2019. The hotel may have been ok at one time but its worn and smells like dirty carpet. Breakfast was average at best. Just not up to global standards. You can tell that the owners just don't invest or take interest in the property. Forget TV - the signal was basically non existent - terrible reception and bad sound - again you can tell that they are not willing to pay for signal strength and forget any international news channels. Si solo buscas algo tranquilo para descansar y no eres muy exigente considero que este hotel es buena opción.

Es muy tranquilo, la habitaciones están limpias, sin embargo las amenidades como el desayuno, la alberca y el gym no son su fuerte. El desayuno es muy básico, algo de antojitos mexicanos y ya, no tienen muchas opciones, por si eres vegano o tienes una dieta alimentaria distinta consideres ese punto. También si quieres comer tranqui sugiero que vayan temprano alrededor de las 7-8.

La alberca esta muy chiquita, está bien para pasar el rato con niños si aún te queda pila del dia. El gym tambien es muy básico pero funcional. Y el estacionamiento es gratis 🙏

Otro punto es la ubicación, está a 15-20 minutos de la playa en carro, si vienes por cuenta propia en auto está bien, sin embargo si vienes en autobús o no tienes manera de moverte más que en taxi-uber las tarifas hasta la playa pueden ir de entre los 100 y 200 pesos si la tarifa está dinámica. No hay manera que puedas ir a la playa caminando, tómalo en cuenta!

El servicio es muy bueno, mas las personas que están en el comedor, muy amable la señorita que es delgadita de lentes y un muchacho alto, fueron muy atentos con todos 🫶

Hay un centro comercial cerca pero en la fecha que estuvimos ahí estaba en mantenimiento así que estaba cerrado pero hay varios comercios cerca, nuevamente esto si vienes en carro, caminando si quedan lejos.

En conclusión está bien, no es el mejor pero para el precio me pareció lo justo, cómo dije este hotel es bueno pero si eres exigente no...
