I sincerly recommend Aria and would if we return to Herceg Novi we will not stay anywhere else.
We, 2 adults and 2 children (7yo and 9yo) from Sweden spent 8 days at Aria in July. We were upgraded to "Penthouse West Wing" free of charge. Unfortunately our air travel to Montenegro were very delayed but the owner Sasha stayed up until we finally arrived at 1am in the morning to help us to our room.
The homepage is not completely up to date but the photos of the suite we stayed in show what you get. The restaurant Fontana is not open anymore. The room were cleaned very well daily. Our daugther adored the decorations made on the beds. The view of Boka bay is indead spectacular. Air conditioning worked well and so did the wifi. Breakfast buffet was delicious and also our children found things to eat. Photos seen on google maps are accurate. A very nice selection of warm and cold dishes, bread, fruit yoghurt, fruit, frech juice, hot drinks and more. To us it also seemed as a nice presentation of local cuisine.
The seaside promenade is a few minutes away. One should be aware that it is a bit of a steep walk up from the seaside which could be cumbersome for elderly. Along the seaside are a number of small pebble beaches and restaurants to be found. A walk with children to old town was about 20 minutes. A few hundred meters from the Hotel one could find a small fast food restaurant (Marcello) and a small but very well packed grocery store (Scorpion).
We included transportation to and from airport and it worked out perfectly.
A review of Aria is not complete without mentioning the owner Sasha. You will remember his hospitality when leaving. As he heard our son wanted to see the submarine tunnels, he talked to an owner of a boat excursion company and managed to get us a private tour, where our son were promised to be allowed to drive the boat. Unfortunately we couldn't fit it into our plans. Every morning he greeted us, gave us advice, what tour companies to use etc. As we couldn't enjoy breakfast on the day of our departure, he put together breakfast/lunch packages (HUGE sandwiches, fruits, cold drink) which we discovered in our freezer in the evening the day before...

Read moreWe spent four nights at the Hotel Aria - it is a wonderful hotel. We were given a much larger room than we were expecting. It was on the top floor with fantastic views from the balcony. As well as a spacious double bedroom there was a large living room with another double bed. There was air conditioning. We did not turn on the televsion. There were kitchen facilities inlcuding a fridge, freezer and a four-ring hob and crockery and utensils. We could easlily have have cooked for ourselves if we had wished to do so. Our bedroom had wardrobes for our luggage. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. Everthing was very comfortable, clean and tidy.||The sea is a few minutes walk downhill. The nearest beach (or rather bathing platform) is owed by another hotel . We rented sunbeds and an umbrella there one day.||Breakfast was an excellent buffet on the ground floor. It showed off local specialities and changed a little each day. ||Saša was an ideal host. He welcomed us, helped us with questions and presided over breakfast. He was chatty with all guests and made an effort to remember everyone's name. He really enhanced our stay.||Parking was difficult. The spaces on the pavement across the road from the hotel were a little tricky. There were other spaces near the nearby Savina monastery but we did not know about them when we arrived.||It takes 20 to 30 minutes to walk from the hotel into the centre of Herceg Novi, further than we were expecting. It looks as if there are local buses which might be worth exploring. There are a lot of stairs in the hotel and no lift, which would be difficult for anyone with difficulty walking, but Herceg Novi is a town built on a hill with steps everywhere so anyone with mobility issues might choose a different destination.||We would be happy to go back to Aria if we return to...
