Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are a few things I wish I’d known beforehand when planning the trip and the hotel that I wanted to share here to help others. |We had two of the top floor rooms overlooking the bay, they were large, clean and comfortable and the bathroom/shower area was roomy and modern. |For a small hotel there was a great selection of hot and cold food at breakfast, including plant milks, cereal and fruit for the vegans in our party, and the options varied daily, which you don’t always get in bigger hotels.|Parking in the whole area was extremely limited so we were very grateful for the parking space provided by the hotel. Due to the limited space, parked cars block others in and you have to leave your keys with reception so they can move them around when guests need to go out. I didn’t particularly like this arrangement as we were driving a hire car and would have been responsible for the cost if the car had got damaged while being moved. However the staff were really helpful and tried whenever they could to leave us a space to park at the front so other cars could go behind. We never had a problem or delay getting our car when we needed to go out. |Staff were v friendly and helpful and gave us lots of advice on getting around. Although the hotel is on Kotor Bay, we didn’t understand the geography well enough to appreciate just how far Herceg Novi is from places like Perast and Kotor until we got there and saw the only route is around the perimeter of the bay, with journey times of around an hour and a half to Kotor. Tivat initially appeared to be a 2 hour drive but on the advice of the hotel we took a car ferry across that cut off a section of the bay and at least made that section a little more accessible. It was very easy to use and I’d recommend it to other travellers. |The hotel booked us a private speedboat trip to the submarine tunnels in the bay, the Blue Cave and nearby beaches with a company called Dominus Charter. I couldn’t find any reviews of them online but they were excellent and it was a really good experience that I’d recommend to others. |Although the views were lovely and the hotel is at the nicer end of Herceg Novi, closer to Meljine, we didn’t love the location as a base for our trip. As someone who swims every morning on holiday it was also really disappointing to find the pool was too shallow and small for swimming and also the pool/sun lounger area was in shade from 4pm.|Finally, it’s worth being aware that there is an international motorcycle event at Herceg Novi/Melinj at the end of August every year. Three nights of our six night stay were affected by noise from the nearby heavy metal concert, constantly revving motorbikes and bikes speeding up and down the street with bars and restaurants. It certainly wasn’t the hotel’s fault but it did...
Read moreDear Kredo team,|We stayed two weeks at your hotel in July/August 2023 and had a really pleasant experience. The hotel was clean and tidy and with a fantastic view of the bay with the clear blue water, the green mountains and the activities in the marina and on the sea where cruise ships and other ships passed quietly by.|The breakfast was really good with a rich selection - so even though we stayed with you for two weeks, there was always something to taste that we hadn't tasted before.|We had a superior room with a balcony and a view of the sea. The room was well equipped with everything we needed and there was plenty of space.|We were greeted every day by your kind words, your helpfulness, and smiles when we moved around the hotel. You had a lot of empathy and inquired about our well-being every day. We felt special and extremely comfortable in your company.|During the stay, one of us unfortunately fell ill and we had to ask for your help in the middle of the night to arrange a visit to the on-call doctor. Unfortunately, it subsequently led to admission to the local hospital in Meljine, and later to a transfer to the regional hospital in Kotor with hospitalization for three days.|During the hospitalization period, you were fantastic in taking care of the person who was not hospitalized, who otherwise felt alone in the world. You were very caring and frequently asked how things were going, you constantly offered your help and were focussed on making it as comfortable as possible for the non-sick person. You stepped in and participated as if you were our family. We are incredibly grateful for how you were - which is absolutely exceptional and which we are sure we would not have found anywhere else. Heartfelt thanks to Jovana, Ljubica, Dino, Aleksa, Vladimir, Janko and the rest of the team at Kredo, whose names we unfortunately...
Read moreLots of good things to say. I loved the location which was in the main quiet, that being just what I wanted. I loved Herceg Novi and in the end abandonned attempts to drive to other towns because of traffic jams and over tourism. Appreciate that I am a tourist and part of this problem. The hotel was very much our base and we walked everywhere. It was great to have a two bed apartment. Well done for having that option.|The choice of food at breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful and accommodating.|There were two points that were disappointing. First on the basis of their being a gym, I brought gym gear. There is no way that the facilities could be described as a gym. The "gym" was on an open balcony ie not air conditioned and would have been too hot to work out in. It had one weights machine with snapped wires so completely broken. There was one bench press and a poor selection of weights. I brought hand luggage only so space was minimal. Annoyed to bring gym wear that then couldn't be used.|Second our apartment had a kitchenette but no kitchen utensils save for one knife. There was no cork screw, wooden spoons for stirring, spatulas, fish slice etc. I don't know why this was and it made for difficult meal prep when we ate in. We did ask at reception but nothing was done.|All in all though a good stay, and we would love to visit...
