Lighthouse — Hotel in Igalo

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and it was the most disappointing vacation experience we have ever had. The moment we arrived we were told by the receptionist that after 5 days we must change our superior double room with sea view (already paid) with a twin one. When we asked for a reason and we expressed our displeasure the only explanation we received was that “a misunderstanding has been caused by the tour operator and nothing can be done“. After 5 days we asked to talk to the sales manager who informed us, very irritated, that if we do not want the second room, they cannot do anything for us and we could go to another hotel. Without any apology from his side and taking into consideration that our vacation was already paid, they acceded to give us back the difference between the prices of the two rooms and to provide full board meal instead of HB for the last 3 days (that we did not use, because the food was not diversified enough and many days they served the same thing).||The most unpleasant aspect related to meals was that at the reception we were not informed what restaurant to use, since they have 2. The people staying in the first 3 ’’renovated’’ floors eat in a ’’better’’ restaurant , as their own employees told us after we arrived in the wrong restaurant downstairs. This is on the first floor. The rest eats in the basement, in a diningroom that might be easily confused with a community canteen. We were not informed at the reception to use the first one. Another ’’misunderstanding’’.||In the first room (photos attached) we found black mould in the bathroom and shower cabin, a sink which was loosing water on the bottom because of a leaking/broken hose, a mini-refrigerator - warm the first day, to our surprise a broken mirror and a very dirty small balcony, full of bird mess.||The second room, as we noticed when they first showed it to us, was twice smaller, with twin beds not connected to eachother. The isolation of the room was not proprely realised – the noise from the elevator was constant and very disturbing (building with 10 floors and 2 big elevators).||The hotel has no parking at all. Actually, the parcking in front of the hotel must be paid - 4 or 5 euro/day. ||Ufortunately, this hotel is far behind...

Pros: really spacious room, large bathroom. Location. Supermarket is 10 m from the entrance.||The rest - really bad, even considering the price.||Most of the people at the reception cannot speak English, or German, or Russian.||Internet comes and goes, and they make zero attempts to fix it.||Breakfast - very, very basic, like flakes and sandwiches, and eggs. And the same thing every day.||Worst things: the hotel receives sport teams on a regular basis. We got lucky with a large team of teens. They are running around yelling till 2 a.m., and this is just unmanagable! Complaining at reception does not help. So, if you see a team on your floor - just move to another hotel, really, otherwise no sleep.||Second worst thing: they have this really loud music in the halls from probably 6 in the morning till... you complain at the reception. And there is no way to regulate the volume, and it is really loud. And it goes on and on all day. And the speaker was straight above our door. I just don't get why i am supposed to wake up that early as if it is some sort of sport camp for teenagers.||||I am normally not the type of person to go to the reception with every little thing, really, but this time i had to pay them a visit every half an hour.||Oh yeah, and the shower was all broken, on the top of everything. The hotel management were very accommodating to our needs, and flexible with many last minute changes in numbers of attendees. ||The hotel room I had was big, with a 'lounge' area and a bedroom area. ||The meals were buffet style, which suited our needs well. ||There was another group (of teenagers) there as well, and they were occasionally noisy, but not too bad.||The conference room is on the floor below reception, and is windowless. And since there was no AC installed, we soon got rather too warm. Some fans helped, but not really enough.
