Exceptional Hospitality at La Maison Imazighne I had the pleasure of staying at La Maison Imazighne, a gem nestled in the beautiful Atlas Mountains. Youssef, the owner, is a remarkable host who goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. His warm hospitality and genuine kindness were apparent from the moment we arrived.
Youssef's knowledge of the Berber culture and the surrounding region added a unique and enriching layer to our stay. He was always available to share stories, offer recommendations, or simply chat about life in the Atlas Mountains. The guesthouse itself is charming, clean, and comfortable, with a stunning view of the mountains.
What truly stood out was the personal touch Youssef added to every aspect of our visit. From the delicious home-cooked meals featuring local ingredients to the attention to detail in our rooms, it was clear that Youssef takes great pride in his guesthouse and genuinely cares for his guests' experience.
For anyone looking for an authentic and memorable stay in the Atlas Mountains, I highly recommend La Maison Imazighne and Youssef’s unmatched...
Read moreTrekkers and hikers - this is the gîte for you! Gîte Timit is run by Youssef and his family who created a great place to relax after / before a M’Goun trek.
Timit is a tiny village with great views over the Aït Bouguemaz valley. There’s a shop right next door so you can stock up on essentials. The larger settlement of Tabant is a 20min walk away, here you’ll find more shops and onward transport if needed.
The gîte itself is a great place to stay. Rooms are comfy, there’s hot water and the large terrace is great to unwind. There’s no WiFi (as of Nov. 2024) but 4G reception of mobile data.
All three generations of the family are incredibly welcoming and friendly. We ate fantastic food during our time here and got great advice for our next trekking stages. Youssef is a mountain guide who explained us in detail how to get to our next trailhead and which things to watch out for in regard to weather and potential issues along the way.
This certainly is the right place for all that come to Aït Bouguemez looking to experience Amazight culture and who don’t need the chi-chi of the more fancy places in the valley. Highly...
Read moreWe had a great stay at Gite Timit with Youseff and his family. The room is simple and cosy and they supplied extra blankets so we were warm at night. Youseff happily organised hot water for showers which was quite a luxury. We had dinner and breakfast at the family home and it was always delicious. Youseff and his son Mohammed were very attentive and always smiling. We did a day walk in the area visiting a beautiful local gorge guided by Youseff, Mohammed and a small mule which was really helpful for our children when they wanted a break from walking. This is a beautiful place to stay when visiting this valley. The drive in and out is spectacular and it's definitely worth spending some time here. We contacted Youseff on WhatsApp to organise our stay a day prior and he was...
