Khamlia Desert Camp — Hotel in Caïdat de Taouz

Located in the far Western part of Morocco, the Erg Chebbi desert dunes in Merzouga are an absolute must if you're visiting the country as to not come here would be doing yourself a disservice. There is a 2 to 3 day tour service by bus with plenty of stops along the way and an overnight hotel stay but once you get there, the fun begins. Face coverings and glasses are a necessity here as the sands combined with the strong winds can be punishing but once that detail is sorted, the camel ride will take you to the dunes where sandboarding, quad biking and stunning photography of the sunrise and sunset awaits - be aware that you MUST be up at 5.00 am to catch the camel ride back to the desert for the sunrise the next morning. No suelo dar 5 estrellas, pero sin duda este camp, las merece, He viajado hasta la duna de erg chebbi en moto con mi nieta, 14 años, reservando dos noches . La primera y agradable sorpresa , un día antes de mi llegada te envían la ubicación de la kasbah donde dejar la moto. El día de la llegada hablo con youanes (gerente) indicando que me retrasare; su respuesta "no te preocupes te esperamos hasta la hora que llegues" para llevarnos al camp en todo terreno, por cierto incluido en el precio, el resto de camp no lo incluyen. (50 euros ahorrados), primera y notable diferencia. La segunda diferencia sobre el resto de camp, la ubicacion; entre dos dunas donde ni ves, ni oyes a los inquilinos de otros camp. La tercera y para mi más importante, el recibimiento, la amabilidad, incluso me atrevo a decir la amistad que en tan solo dos días hemos fraguado con mimun, el responsable del camp, bereber de raza, y creo que con eso está todo dicho, quien nos ha hecho sentir como en casa, hemos comido a nuestra elección, nos ha reservado un quad, para nosotros solos, con un guía extraordinario, hemos cantado, bailado, en extraordinarias noches de cielo estrellado. Y algo que si tienen en común todos los camp, el desierto, auténtica maravilla en marruecos. Ahora con la frialdad de quien ha viajado mucho valoro. Der Ritt auf dem Dromedar durch die Wüste ist sehr schön und die Pause, um den Sonnenuntergang zu erleben, ist wunderbar aber auch notwendig. Der Ritt auf dem Tier ist ganz schön anstrengend - besonders beim Abgang von den Dünen, Unbedingt gut festhalten wen das Tier aufsteht oder wieder bach unten geht - die Körperhaltung immer in die Gegenrichtung bewegen und sehr gut festhalten. Wir waren froh nach über einer Stunde im Camp anzukommen.|Die Zelte im Camp sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Verpflegung mit dem Abendessen und Frühstück ist reichhaltig, Das vom Niveau der Speisen lässt seht zu wünschen übrig. Unser Abendessen ist sehr fettig gewesen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht. |Ein Traumhaftes Erlebnis ist der Sonnenaufgang am frühen Morgen - es lohnt sich unbedingt mindesten 30 Minuten vor dem offiziellen Zeitpunkt auf die Dünen zu gehen, um das Erwachen des Tages zu erleben.|Die Rückfahrt machten wir mit Allrad Fahrzeug durch die Wüste und haben dies mit einiges Stopps verbunden um Fotos zu machen.Dies ist nicht romantisch wie auf dem Dromedar aber doch...
