Nice place to visit. You can park your car at secure parking at Hotel du Berger in Merzouga, and the team collect you in their 4x4 to take you to the campsite. You are welcomed with mint tea and shown to your tent. The tent is simple with comfy beds, a thick duvet and lots of blankets which was ideal because it can get cold at night. There is a small toilet room and a small shower room - both are ok. Hot water is available at set hours in the day. There are NO electrical sockets in the tents, only in the restaurant at the top of the camp. If you want to charge your phone, you will need to do it at the restaurant or bring a portable battery/charging block. The wifi at this camp is not great either.
Food is okay but the same meals are served each day so if you are staying for more than 2 nights you will get bored. Breakfast is yoghurt, bread and pancakes. The evening meal is bread, salad, tomato & aubergine tagine with melted cheese, chicken tagine, and a small fruit salad for dessert. Only 1.5L bottle water provided per day for 2 people so you need to bring your own bottled water, enough for your stay.
The sandboard is free to use. Camel rides can be arranged for sunrise and sunset and cost us €20 per person. They also arrange day tours to visit a Nomad family. They quoted us €70 for a double quad bike for 1 hour, however you can get this much cheaper in Merzouga (€35 for a double quad bike for 1 hour, with a guide).

Two of us spent a night at this beautiful romantic camp in the perfect October. Arriving with Camel Riding during sunset was so amazing, relaxing and safe. Our camel ride guid Abraham was a young man who is so experienced and responsible, he checked every minute and made sure if everything was ok with us. We hugged the blue sky and soft sand while the sun slowly melted away.
While arriving the beautiful luxury camp it was already lightened up by the moon, our camp leader Ismail welcomed us with Moroccan tea and many snacks. He was so friendly, welcoming and helpful all the time. He explained everything to us and arranged us the “Royal Dinner” which placed on the table fully like king and queen and he made sure we had enough food, we were so surprised that u can get such good food in the desert.
After the huge dinner we had bonfire party with drums and dancing, it was unforgettable and special. We enjoyed the music and chatted with everybody near the warm fire.
We tried Sand Boarding the first time and it was very fun, wished we can spend few nights more there! In the early morning we’ve seen the sunset which recommended by Ismail and it was totally worth it. The location of this camp is just the perfect spot for sunrise and sunset.
Lovely people who worked there with passion for their working. We enjoyed every moment there and we definitely want to...

I am so happy that they chose this accommodation along with the camel sunset ride.|I was very impressed with how organized everything was—every need was met. |I found the camels to be so mello that riding them felt almost zen-ish and the atmosphere conducive to meditation. The staff was so welcoming; the food was plentiful and delicious; the accommodations were spacious and clean with plenty of warm water . I had a perfect night’s sleep.|Before bedtime, a camp fire was lit and a local Berber group provided the entertainment—a perfect ending to a perfect day. |My only disappointment is that I hadn’t scheduled more time in the desert in my itinerary (which is why I NEED to return!)|If you go to Morocco, be good to yourself and book a camel safari with accommodations at the Zahra Desert Camp—I promise you, you won’t regret it —-as a matter of fact it maybe the most memorable experience...
