If I could give 0 stars, I would. Our experience at Novotel Mohammedia was by far the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had, and I honestly don’t understand how this place can call itself a 4-star hotel.
First of all, the service is absolutely terrible. We had to wait over 2 hours for basic things like towels, covers, and pillows after calling reception multiple times. When they finally came, it took them another 30 minutes just to drop off the items. There were no slippers, no toiletries, and nothing in the room was prepared as it should be for new guests. The room itself was filthy – dust everywhere, garbage on the floor like it hadn’t even been cleaned from the last guest. The bathroom didn’t lock and was dirty to the point that we had to wipe it ourselves because no one from housekeeping bothered to come, even after repeated calls.
We had paid for breakfast for three people, but it never arrived until after constant complaints over the phone. When they finally delivered it, it was a tiny portion barely enough for one person, with no cutlery, no cups, and missing several items we had ordered. It felt like they were doing us a “favor” instead of fulfilling what we had already paid for.
As for amenities forget about it. No bottled water was provided in the room, so we had to go out and buy our own. No towels were available for the pool either, forcing us to use our own personal ones. The swimming pool is extremely small and badly maintained. Water was splashed everywhere, making the floor dangerously slippery, not just around the pool but even around the seating area where guests were walking. It’s a serious safety hazard. On top of that, children were constantly jumping into the pool and even landing near or on other guests. Staff didn’t care at all and were barely even around to monitor or enforce rules.
The gym is a joke tiny and with barely any equipment. The spa was supposedly part of the experience, but our appointment was canceled without a single notice or explanation. When we asked about it, staff shrugged it off and didn’t even bother to rebook us.
The overall attitude of the staff was careless and unprofessional. Every request felt like a burden to them, and nothing was done with any urgency or attention. The so-called “hospitality” here is nonexistent.
Also the hotel isn’t family friendly and there is a very loud open space bar which to some isn’t the best and the people there mostly aren’t guests making it a very creepy and hostile environment the way the act and look.
In summary: dirty rooms, extremely poor service, unsafe facilities, and a hotel staff that couldn’t care less about guests. For the price we paid, this was a complete disaster. I would never recommend Novotel Mohammedia to anyone. There are far better options in the area do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, Novotel Casablanca is a must stay with better rooms and friendly staff and it’s up to it’s name unlike its other branch...

While Novotel Mohammedia boasts a great location near the park and the beach, my overall experience was far from satisfactory.
Check-In Experience: Upon arrival, I was shocked to learn that my prepaid room had been given away due to my late check-in, caused by a delayed flight. The check-in process took over 3 hours. Initially, a trainee at the reception attempted to assist but admitted she lacked the knowledge to resolve the issue. Another staff member, without even reviewing my booking, bluntly stated there were no rooms available. I was further told that it was my fault for not informing the hotel about my late arrival, even though I had tried contacting them earlier for an airport pickup — a request that was completely ignored.
Reception and Service Issues: The service throughout my stay was disappointing. Despite calling the restaurant multiple times over 40 minutes, no one picked up. When I approached the reception for assistance, they redirected my call back to the unresponsive restaurant. After several requests, the reception staff kindly took my order, but the food was never delivered. This lack of responsiveness left me feeling ignored and frustrated.
Room Conditions: The rooms, while clean with comfortable beds, show signs of age. Additionally, they lacked basic attention to detail — no mattress cover was provided, as evident in the attached image.
The Lamp scared me in night which started by itself and switching on and off as shown in video.
Restaurant and Breakfast: The restaurant experience was equally underwhelming. Staff were rarely present, and the breakfast spread, while passable, lacked options for vegetarians in the hot dishes. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected far better offerings.
Additional Charges: It's worth noting that the hotel charges beyond the standard two small complimentary water bottles.
Conclusion: It seems like there is a significant gap in communication and management at this property. The lack of professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail severely impacted my stay. While the location is excellent, the service does not match the standards one expects from Novotel. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless there is a drastic improvement in its operations and...
Read moreA bad hotel, just to be able to check in on time, despite having made our reservation more than two weeks in advance through this site. The front desk staff act like they’re top professionals, but they can’t even manage a simple check-in properly.
We had requested to stay on the same floor as our children. Apparently, that was a “strange” request, because it took hours – and a lot of pressure from us – before they finally arranged for us to have rooms on the same floor. It was extremely frustrating.
The reception employees acting like some kind of chosen one, while being completely unable to handle even a basic check-in. At this hotel, it feels like you have to chase after everything yourself and that you should be grateful just to be allowed to stay there.
Later, we overheard another guest complaining as well about the way the front desk operates and how they treat customers – proof that we weren’t the only ones dissatisfied.
For a third bed in the room, we were told we had to pay extra, which meant our child had to sleep on a sofa bed. And when you return to the hotel in the evening after going out, it feels like you’ve walked into a nightclub: the reception area blends with the bar, and you have to pass by people who are already drunk.
This hotel has absolutely no sense of empathy, and some of the reception staff (not all, but some) are...
