We LOVED the Keinnara! After choosing to stay in Myanmar during the first covid lockdown, it was the perfect getaway from Yangon. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect and we felt instantly at ease. The staff were wonderful, from the front desk staff to the garden staff, and they did everything they could to make our stay great. The food was varied and delicious and the buffet breakfast was not only yummy but beautifully displayed with candles and everything was clean. Actually, everywhere was clean. The cabin was gorgeous and spotless as was the rest of the site. The gardens are well maintained and managed and the whole place speaks of attention to detail and owners who care and have high expectations. The pool was a perfect place to relax after a long hike. I am so glad that we chose Keinnara after considering the other hotels nearby. The log cabin room was stunning and and a nice reminder of the local culture. Our view of Zwekabin was ideal and we spent many hours on the balcony, listening to the rain and soaking up the atmosohere. We decided to stay another night as we just couldn't bring...
Read moreI find it very difficult to understand the unfavourable reports of some previous contributors. This is by any standards are very delightful hotel. The cottages are extremely comfortable and the grounds are beautifully planted. The swimming pool is pleasant and clean. Criticism of the staff is unwarranted. Any lack in experience is easily made up by their smiley and helpful demeanour. Everyone is so eager to please.||The restaurant is entirely satisfactory with lots of choice and all freshly prepared. The wine list is concise but extremely good for a restaurant in a village in Myanmar, and very fairly priced too. I'm not too sure about the Myanmar wine but all the other wines were extremely well selected. Vintages were listed and some of the wines had some very decent bottle age, still tasting fresh. They must have been stored extremely carefully and this guest was extremely grateful for the care taken over this, ||I thoroughly recommend this hotel for a very relaxing and comfortable stay and as an excellent base to visit the interesting sites...
Read moreI'm going to support most of the other reviewers - this place is a lovely retreat about 7km out of town, set between two limestone mountains, one being the stunning Mt Zwe Kabin. At night the stupas on top are alight. The rooms are lovely and roomy, most with good views of the mountain. The bathroom was good. Restaurant food is a dual western / Asian menu, with a bias towards western, it's target customer. We ate Asian here when we actually ate at this restaurant - a more limited menu, but still nice - try the lentil, glass noodle soup. Breakfasts are really good! Take service by local Kayin people is very good - great training and employment opportunity for them. Reception staff were fantastic - friendly, very helpful. We had a lovely 4 nights there - a couple of days too short!!
Couple of issues we had: We had booked the skydome - we felt claustrophobic in it and changed to a normal room - the staff were good about this! WiFi & mobile service was OK at best - slow uploads in particular & seemed to drop out for short periods. Difficult location between...
