In addition to the old building with 20 rooms, the HOME Hotel recently launched a new building with over 70 rooms. The two buildings are connected at the second floor with the staircase. Amazed by how well-furnished this hotel is -- each and every single detail such as customized wood carving of the doors, ceiling and furniture -- this hotel will give you not only the comfort but also the beauty of Asian architecture. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was attracted by the unique design of the furnitures at the lobby -- you will recognize the pattern of the hotel logo from the chair design. What I like more is this hotel got a "single room category" which is quite rare for a hotel to have one. There are very few hotels in Mandalay to have this kind of room type and trust me, this hotel got a cheaper and more comfortable single room in the entire Mandalay city.

What a service! I came to here from the review in Agoda Firstly, we booked a non-smoking room for my parents but we were given a non-smoking room with a cigarette smell. Then, we would not wait to long and report to a member of staff at the front. Surprisingly, they managed to move us to another floor with a new room immediately after their check. Thank you very much for a very kind service We will definitely visit this place again Highly recommended

Bed and comforter quality is good. Housekeeping is well done and the shower's water pressure is satisfying. The breakfast spread is decent and the roof top restaurant offers an awesome view. If you are smell-sensitive like me, ask for a non-smoking room as some rooms have cigarette smell from the previous dwellers.

I stayed in a Deluxe Double room on level 3 for 4 nights. Check-in is fuss free but Check out took a while as they could not locate my laundry bill initially. Although the staff spoke limited English, they are always warm and helpful.||||The best feature of this hotel is perhaps the shower pressure. It is by far the best among the 3 same star hotels I stayed in myanmar trip. The bed is so comfortable. The hotel is located along a main street which is not really busy so noise is not an issue even though I'm staying. There are however, renovation going on inside and construction works outside during the day. You’ll be fine so long you don't intend to take an afternoon nap. ||||The cable TV channels available may have revealed the guests profile. 90% of the channels are mainland chinese channels (with no english subs) appealing to mature groups. The other channels include 1 Thai channel, 1 bollywood channel, 1 football channel and TV Monde 5. An English news channel would have been nice. ||||The hotel breakfast buffet is really basic and there’s always a queue at the egg station, but it sufficient to kickstart the day. There are some food kiosks across the streets. However, I am not keen to tackle the chilly weather and tricky traffic early in the morning so I stick to the restaurant for my entire stay. As an added bonus, you can watch the sunrise from the hotel restaurant as it features an unblocked view of Mandalay city. Pity the restaurant is closed after breakfast. Power outages are fairly common in Myanmar and I experienced it a few times on 2 days but the power will come back within minutes. WiFi connection is generally great most of the time but may be choppy for a while after each power outage.||||The hotel also helped me to engage a driver for Pyin Ow Lwin which I totally enjoyed the trip. The only negative thing I have to say is the housekeeping team really need to buck up. They missed a cup sitting on same spot unwashed for 3 days and on the last day, they missed my making up my room altogether. Nonetheless, they swiftly delivered my towels and water bottle after I called.||||I booked the hotel via a flash deal. For the price I paid, I think the hotel does offer value for money.||||Tips: ||Taxi from Hotel to Airport cost 30,000 kyat if you get the hotel to arrange for you but it will only cost 14,700 kyat if you use Grab App to hail Taxi. ||||If you are on a budget, check out Shan Ma Ma which is only 6-7 minutes walk away from the hotel. Crossing road in Myanmar is tricky though.||Alternatively, the slightly pricer BBQ restaurant 99 with helpful staff is...

I stayed in this hotel twice: first in November 2018, second this week. I returned because first time they matched my expectations and I was hoping for the same experience. Well, it did not turn to be that way.

First of all, I sent an e-mail about a week prior to my arrival asking for car rental offer (which worked just fine last time). Nobody ever replied me.

Second, the room window was SO full of bird dirt that you literally couldn't see through it! I remembered the same problem from last time and I find it terrible that they still do not care about it. It is not only ugly but also disgusting!!!

Third, I asked for a car to take me to the jetty (I was leaving Mandalay by boat). First they offered me for 6000 kyat, then they realized that I am taking the slightly more expensive boat so they changed the rate to 7000 saying that this jetty is more far away. Well, it is next to the other jetty, 50 meters away! I don't care about the 1000 kyat but I do feel bad about the way they handled the case.

Anyway room was OK, bereakfast is quite good as always, checking in and out is quick.

Will I return? Unfortunately no. For this rate I give chance to another hotel, I hope somebody will treat returning...
