This place is very basic and is reflected in the price .(from $10 per pax) .||The establishment could improve the garden area next to the river by planting some flowers or shrubs ( it was just used to dry handwashed laundry ) and burn rubbish .||||Some rooms came with ensuite wet rooms and wc ,otherwise you have to opt for the shared wc a few yards in the dark .Breakfast was served in a little cafe next door ( fried egg , fried rice with dried beans or toast and jam chinese tea or coffee. They could not invest in any knives to butter the toast).||||It was bitterly cold but staff were helpful by providing additional blankets . The rooms were dark and cosy with one little window - however cobwebs were in the corners and I dared not use the mosquito net for fear of shaking down the dead carcasses collected over several months, plus it was so cold most of the mosquitoes kept away .||They provided a large towel and toothbrush paste but no soap.||||The main bugbear was that the locals insisted on burning woodfires in the adjacent land to keep warm (and serve as a light perhaps) plus the military checkpoint was a few feet away so all the lorries and trucks that had to pass through were kept parked outside the motel between 8pm till 6am running engines intermittently ( producing even more fumes ) in order to keep warm before the checkpoint reopened.||The motel is also used as a one night stopover for local tourists who are in bed early and up at 5 am .Unfortunately they can be very noisy snoring breathing with hacking coughs through the thin walls .||Due to its location there were a few food stalls opposite the motel (that looked better in the night) with reasonably priced offerings which were tasty and safe to eat.||||We enjoyed our 2 night visit to Indawgyi and are happy to put up with inconveniences but the wood burning and truck exhaust fumes was a bit of an issue due to asthma .It served its purpose but with a little extra supervision and investment it could be a really much better motel .||||( Our tour operator had initially recommended the other Indaw Mahar hotel which did look cheerful and was about 4 houses away within sight but that had shared bathrooms although plenty of rustic charm with rooms...
