Hotel staff are very attentive to your needs. Specific requests always filled in a timely manner. Most staff speak English and are always helpful. They helped us book 2 bus tickets & arranged taxis for travel throughout the city. Specifically ask for Oo Kyaw (tuk tuk) driver who is always smiling and is happy to give you a historic tour. Awesome guy!!!||For the month of January hotel offered a discount on lunch & dinner, which was an added bonus. Food was very tasty! Restaurant looks very dated though. Very dreary appearance with off white chair covers and tablecloths. Reminded me of a funeral parlor especially because the curtains are never drawn and that prevents natural light from getting in. With some decor changes , I’m sure more people would be drawn to actually eating in the restaurant. With the exception of breakfast, we always opted for room service.||Room was tidy but bathrooms are dated with cracked tile and stained grout. Foul sewage scent came up from drains in tub and sink periodically throughout the day. Had to crack the windows to air out the room. ||If more attention to detail in the bathrooms & decor in the restaurant is updated, hotel rating could increase. Overalll it offers a good bargain...
Read moreMonywa is a dump, there are no two ways about it and this hotel is very, very basic. We had a triple room which was nice and large, the bathroom was adequate but the floor of the bedroom was filthy - none of us walked barefoot! A word of caution to anyone travelling with small children, the windows had a standard latch even on high floors, so be really careful. Our son is 12 so it wasn't a problem.||||Monywa is the agricultural centre of Myanmar so we guessed the King & Queen catered mostly to Chinese salesmen as the breakfast was definitely geared towards that market. The food was ok, about 4 different dishes in food warmers which would have been great if they were attached to the electricity, alas no, so everything was cold, even early on. There is an egg station but scrambled egg took 4 attempts, it was perfectly fine once it arrived but don't expect speedy service.||||The staff tried their best but it's not a tourist hotel, or town, so set your expectations accordingly. It is way over-priced, at half the cost you wouldn't find any fault, there are very few accommodation choices so if you really want to see the sites, which are absolutely worth it, compromises...
Read moreHighly recommended We were in this hotel in januari 2017. Good breakfast for every nationality. Asia/western. Staff is extremely friendly, tries to help you with everything and some speak good english. They provide free Monywa map. Good location, 10 minutes walk to night market, less than 2km from bus station. Room is clean,, spacious and comfortable, When one of us was very ill with high fever, the manager drove us himself to a hospital for a bloodtest. He did everything he could to help us and translated everything. He also picked up the results of the test and brought this to our room. He brought some painkiller and vitamines. Really incredible...
