Good location. Quiet at night. Friendly english speaking staff. They book your bustickets without commission. They rent ebikes, some rental-shops nextdoor as well. They book your popa-tour. A local shop nextdoor as well. Tourist-restaurants, local restaurants, downtown, minibus-terminal all on max 1km. Rooms very clean, new towels every day (useful after cruising on dirtroads), wifi working everywhere, good ensuite shower (even a bathtube, both with hot water), very good working airco. The included breakfast is great and buffet, which allows you to skip lunch or replace it by snacks.||||I stayed in a shared room ("dorm"), and I liked that there were only about 5 other backpackers (low season though), so easy small group for temple-chasing together, without drunk people at night (sunrise is early). Price was one of the cheapest. So very good value for the money. For bagan at least, which has another pricelevel for accommodation than yangon, mandalay, inle, ... ||||If you like something more fancy, the "royal bagan" nearby might be more your cup of tea. If you like getting drunk, the "lux pillow" might be more your taste, free rum included in the price over there. If you like the crowds, obviously the "ostello bello" is the place to be. If you like something down-to-earth, convenient and very-well-priced, with filling nice...
Read moreThank you for the environmentally friendly idea to provide e-scooters for the touristic exploration of the historical park in Bagan! I loved it to explore Bagan by e-scooter: It was QUIET and DOES NOT POLLUTE the AIR with stinky emmission gases!! It guarantees relaxed and chilled cruising through the sandy area especially during sunset/sunrise and it gave me the good feeling to not further challenge the environment by just being a tourist. Great step towards more environmental awareness in tourism! I wish other touristic countries in Southeast would implement e-scooters, too, and take Bagan as a positive example. Would be nice to provide them to the local people as well - for the sake of the environment and reduction of air pollution.
I stayed at the Golden Crown Motel and found the accomodation and hospitality very good - great breakfast, easy to find and reach, close to the center of the little township and the historical park. Great breakfast, clean rooms and beds, nice breakfast and sitting area, helpful staff, booking service for tours and busses provided. I would definitely stay there again for the great...
Read moreMore a hotel than a hostel at a central location in Nyaung U. You can rent bicycles or e-bikes and e-scooters nearby. There are plenty of restaurants geared at tourists at 1 km distance.||||Stayed five nights in a room with four beds which were occupied by nice travelers most of the time. The place was kept clean. All facilities worked well, with the exception of WiFi on my last day. ||||The place is run in a businesslike way, but efficient. You get a receipt after payment. They book a bus ticket and help out with information. Generally there is one person who speaks English. The buffet breakfast is very good compared to other hostels in Myanmar and includes wholeweath bread and some fruit as well as as rice and noodles.||||They are forthcoming in case of need and served an early breakfast at 6:30AM (normal hours between 7:00...
