Firstly the positives; this is a good value budget hotel. Our room had comfortable beds, a TV and aircon. The location is walkable to main strip of bars/restaurants. ||The downside:|Generally worn and tired decor. ||Bathroom|The tiny, not so clean, bathroom also smelt unpleasantly of damp and sanitation. The shower curtain didn’t fit so when it was in used so it flooded the room. ||Only one small roll of toilet paper was ever provided along with old, cheap small hand and bath towels. The soap was the worst I had ever experienced.||Bedroom|The aircon could only go on high so was very cold when in use. If this was turned off the heat was unbearable.||Additionally our top sheet was soiled. ||Pool|This was one of the reasons we booked the hotel, however there were no loungers to use so it was unusable. ||We didn’t want to appear like jaded foreign tourists so accepted the negative points as part of staying here. Until our check out that is. ||On Leaving |We tidied our room and checked out. We were then told we were being charged £10 for a soiled bath towell. Then after a few minutes they added there was a soiled sheet too!||We were upset and explained that we had already put up with a dirty, stinking bathroom plus a soiled top sheet! ||We said we weren’t going to pay the £10, however to be gracious we would, albeit unhappily, pay £5 instead! This was reluctantly accepted. ||Summary|Would I recommend this hotel to family and friends? ||Certainly NOT. Do not go. ||There are many other budget hotels in the area so shop around and complain if there are any issues as they could come back...
Read moreWe liked staying at this place and the initial first impression was very good as the front of the hotel is very impressive. The room was small but had everything we needed including a hairdryer. What was disappointing was the drainage from the shower which leaked into the rest of the room. We had to use our towels to mop it up so we didn't slip or step into it, and then we had to ask for more towels so we could shower. Also, the shower water made a lot of mess in the actual bathroom as it didn't drain properly and it was impossible to contain because the ledge for the shower is much too low. This may seem picky, but, it meant showers, which we took once or twice a day became a huge ordeal. ||The proximity to restaurants was good and the hotel rented e-bikes which was also good. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was adequate and eggs were made to order. ||It rained while we were there and the hotel didn't have any anti-slip mats or overhead coverings and as it is an open courtyard, we would get wet when trying to get to the breakfast terrace. Not a huge deal but if this bothers you, don't stay here. It was cheap but other places are just as cheap. ||One last thought: this hotel is in New Bagan, which is not near any temples. It's only a 15 minute e-bike ride away, but it was annoying having to go back and forth for the 3 days we were there. Old Bagan is near all the temples. However, this hotel is near a good restaurant that we ate at 5 times and never got sick from the food...

Another reviewer said the AC wasn't powerful. The back wall of those roof rooms is on the East, so it does get hot. It was fine during my cooler season visit and I used the AC a little. Yes, the hot water may finish up, and the wifi isn't terrific but you're in Myanmar! There is one bathroom and one shower room for the dorms but I never found it to be a problem.
Breakfast is served 6:30-9am. It is buffet style. Everyday there was:
Eggs to order (fried, omlette, over easy, boiled) Bread - white and brown slices, and yummy crescent rolls (plus a toaster and toaster oven) with gross margerine but yummy jams (strawberry and marmalade) 2 fresh fruits per day- usually watermelon and one other like honeydew or papaya Local soup you assemble yourself (noodles, broth, toppings) Fried rice, white rice, fried noodles (either wide or thin), plus Sticky rice (black and white) Fried tomato and potato slices Some kind of stir fried vegetables- always a highlight Tea and coffee and "juice" (avoid)
Staff were great during my visit as well. Pleasant place. Motorbike rentals and laundry are more expensive than...
