The hotel is located in New Bagan and easy to access. Bungalow type Rooms are spacious enough and bathroom is spacious too. Good water pressure. Pool is quite fantastic too and should have a bit shady trees for hot summer. There is kettle in the room but no plug to connect to boil the water when i want to drink coffee. So i had to plugged it inside the bathroom on the basin. Also they gave tea cups and saucers but no teaspoon. AC is cool enough but the remote is damaged and u can't see what's the temperature in there. Receptionist ladies in the afternoon were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is average. They don't even come and ask for coffee and tea. There's egg station but no cheese available. Plates are not wiped properly and no labeled for the dishes. The public area toilets are quite unattended and messy. The rooms has mosquito even when we checked in. Otherwise small improvements will do this hotel to be one of the good hotel in the...
Read moreI was quite impressed with the Sky Palace Hotel, especially the grounds. The rooms were simple, the towels were fluffy and luxurious, and the hotels provided a stocked mini-bar with soft drinks and water. The bed and pillows were hard as rocks but after hiking around temples all day, you’re so tired, it doesn’t matter. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is delicious, and the ability to just relax by the pool was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was also great. I also highly recommend walking to the end of the road where there is a little shop. I sat and ate hot noodle soup and watched the world go by. Good location as well - very quiet but close enough to stuff to walk. Also, plenty of motorbikes to rent and take to the temples. I actually bicycled around the temples in the morning which was a great way to...
Read moreWe stayed at the Sky Palace Hotel for 3 nights during a recent visit to Myanmar and found it to be a reasonable base for our stay in Bagan. The room was basic but functional, with a very comfortable bed and great air conditioning. The bathroom was basic but clean and functional. Wifi was ok, though not great if your room is too far from the reception area. Unfortunately breakfast was poor, with limited range of food and poor quality food. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke reasonable English. There are a few good restaurants nearby and a local convenience store a short walk away for water, snacks, etc. Like anywhere in New Bagan, the hotel is quite far away from the temple area so we did not find it that convenient for sightseeing. Overall however it is a good basic hotel that we would happily...
