Emerald Sea Resort, Ngwe Saung Beach — Hotel in Pathein

Facebook's Messenger response was so fast and precise. They fulfilled our request of additional stay within their capacity so we could enjoy another day.

We stayed in Deluxe Sea View Bungalow (duel rooms under a single roof). It has a front garden with hammock and we can see the beach beyond the garden. So we could hear the waves but not too loud. After a few steps, we could reach the beach from our room and we could fall asleep in the hammock while listening to the ocean air breeze.

The room are spacious and well illuminated by sunlight. You could add two more extra bed into the room if you want. The front space balcony is breezy, blessed by sunlight and we could enjoy the sunset view. We mostly spend our morning time there drinking tea, reading books and doing yoga. Also we had our lunch.

Afternoon we opened the front balcony door and let the air entered the room. Then we enjoy our time laying on the room floor, reading and speaking each other. At dinner time, we had dinner while watching the sunset from our balcony. There is a humidifier with a hint of lemon grass installed inside the room so that we could stay fresh.

The hotel allows pets but with some limitations so not to disturb the other guests. They could enjoy their time outside stone cool place. We also sat there for some of our evening time to avoid hotness.

There were a few mosquitos but they didn't bother us since we closed the door early before sunset and there is a net installed over our bed.

24 hours Electricity (EPC power + Generator). Lanes and beach are well illuminated. Free and good Wifi available at most places. We enjoyed night TV time with sky net.

Drinking water can be refilled freely at reception or restaurant. Shower and bathroom water are good. Room is provided with teapot, tea leaves and coffee mix.

The pool is clean, and well illuminated under the sun but surrounded by trees so breezy and quite pleased. Depth are arranged so that childern can also enjoy the pool safely.

Restaurant food is good. It is beside the pool so you could enjoy the food while watching your children playing in pool. Since the restaurant is surrounded by the trees, the breeze is cool. Spa is also located beside the pool. We mostly had our lunch and dinner at our front balcony.

Sometimes at night time, we had dinner and coconut drinks at the seaside bar. There you can enjoy the windy beach with the sound of waves and sand under your feet. Hotel also arrange the special dinner at beach upon your request.

The bar place and breakwater are well illuminated throughout the night so you could sing, drink and walk along the beach if you are not up for the sleep and do not want to disturb the neighbors.

The beach is clean, no stone, straight and no sudden shore slope towards the sea. There is a net which cover the hotel territory water and life guard is always watching as soon as you hit the water. You can use any available tyres tubes as you see since they are provided free.

The middle garden has enough space and shades so you could handout your picnic, play with friends and do some table tennis. You could play bollyball on the beach.

Hotel Review – Ngwe Saung Beach

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in Ngwe Saung Beach and had a mostly pleasant experience. One of the highlights was the clean swimming pool nestled under the shade of large trees, which made it wonderfully cool and relaxing even during the hottest hours of the day. The hotel sits on a spacious compound, offering a sense of openness and tranquility that’s perfect for a beach getaway.

The in-house restaurant and beach bar both offer fair prices, which was a welcome surprise given the quality of the food and drinks. You can enjoy your meals or cocktails without worrying about overspending.

That said, the room size was a bit of a downside — it felt a little narrow and tight, especially if you're staying with family or have lots of luggage. However, this was balanced out by what I consider the best feature of the stay: the outdoor shower area. It added a refreshing and luxurious touch to the overall experience — perfect for rinsing off after a dip in the sea.

During my three-day stay at this hotel in March 2024, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided. The ambiance of the hotel is truly captivating, resembling a serene forest retreat with a breathtaking view of the sea. The spacious room easily accommodated our needs, even with an additional bed. The staff members were incredibly accommodating, always willing to fulfill any request with a smile.

One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of options to suit every palate. The swimming pool, while not directly overlooking the sea, provided a tranquil setting surrounded by lush trees. Its ample size allowed for enjoyable swims at any time of day, shielded from the intense sunlight.

However, what truly stood out to me was the complimentary dessert served in the evening—an unexpected and delightful touch that added to the overall experience.
