First of all, my wife and I have lived in Myanmar over two years, and we are realistic in our expectations at Holiday Hotels in Myanmar||My review is written in the hope that the Management reads it and grasps the thrust of what I am trying to say... ||Pros: Great friendly, helpful staff|Beautiful location & great food||Cons: |- 3 chairs on the pool deck, barely covered by 1 umbrella||- On the beach, three cute thatched shade spaces. However, problem: no chairs. Also, thatched rooves have decayed and provide no shade. Why don't they hire a local for one day and he would adequately fix all three at a small cost?||- No one keeps the beach clean in front of the Hotel.||So basically they miss the point of this Hotel. It is a beach getaway to enjoy the BEACH. ||If you spend the Wet Season preparing for the tourists that WILL come and are going to expend little effort in the meantime, CLOSE for a month or two.||Another thing, beachfront rooms were empty. Why not give an upgrade to customers? I was willing to pay extra $25US extra a night for a win-win situation, but they declined and the beach cabins lay dormant. ||Go to Eskala up the road. We sleep at Grand Ngwe Saung and during the Day enjoy the service, well appointed surrounds (incl. maintained beach huts, drinks delivered from the bar, a clean beach, pay for a quality Myanmar massage etc. Also, they have a Monsoon special, 2 nights, 1 free. The rooms are wide and nice. The bed is comfortable. There's torch light mounted on the wall but the not working so have to ask the staff to change for it.(actually had to ask two times to change it. You will need it when the power is out). Some flies in the rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok. But the timing is unreliable. We were informed that the breakfast would be serving from 6am. But when we went there around 6am, they said not ready and told us to come back around 6:30am but when we went back around 6:30am, they told us again to come back around 7am.
