We stayed in New Chaungtha Hotel for 3 days 2 nights at the end of February 2019. We traveled as a family and a group of 8. As we walked into the reception area, we had a good impression of the hotel because of its huge lobby. We felt welcomed. We were greeted and were served welcome drinks. |Check in and check out was efficient. The front office staffs are amiable, approachable and friendly. The front office lady, Win Win Khine, who showed us to our rooms was patient in answering our questions and excellent in customer service.|We took the banglows. There are apartments which are newer. Our rooms were spacious but dated. (The apartment rooms may be newer but may not be as spacious. My speculation, we didn't stay in apartment rooms.) The toiletries provided were adequate with an exception of a bottle of shower gel/ liquid soap. However, local people in Myanmar prefer bar soap and that is what the hotel provides.|There is no electrical kettle in the room, but there is a flask and warm water can be requested from F&B. |We would also appreciate stronger WiFi. |Housekeeping did a good job. They changed bedsheets and replenished toiletries. (Some hotels these days would just remake the bed instead of changing the sheets.) The bed and pillows were comfortable enough and we had good sleep. |Breakfast is good. Most of the items are Burmese local food. Coffee and Tea are already made and they are in local style. Burmese local tea or coffee is sweeter with condensed milk. |Location is right on the beach. It is near to a small pagoda on a rock. It isn't far from street market too.|Hotel pool is good with a view of the beach from the pool. We took a dip in the pool a few times. The ladies enjoyed taking photos in the pool with the beach as the background. We ordered fried chicken from the restaurant and we enjoyed a bite after our dip. |There is a new apartment building being constructed in progress. Those rooms will have a good sunset view with the small pagoda.|Overall, we had enjoyed our stay in New Chaungtha Hotel. The hotel is excellent for its existing market of local travelers. I won't hesitate to recommend the hotel to international...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at New Chaung Tha Hotel for four days at the end of May, and overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable experience.
First and foremost, I must commend the service quality. The staff across all departments — especially Housekeeping (HK), Front Office (FO), and Food & Beverage (F&B) — were consistently warm, efficient, and attentive. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor made the stay truly welcoming and stress-free.
I stayed in the Pioneer Suite, which was well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable — ideal for a relaxing holiday. However, I would like to mention one downside: the rooms 609 and 611, which were advertised as Sea View rooms, did not deliver the full experience due to ongoing construction blocking much of the view. While the rooms themselves were fine, the expected "Sea View vibe" was definitely affected.
Aside from that, the hotel offers enjoyable amenities. The Fire Dance performance at night was a memorable highlight, and the swimming pool was well-maintained and refreshing. I do think the Water Park area could benefit from some updates or improvements to match the rest of the hotel’s standards.. I was also glad to see there are amusement machines and games available for children, which makes it a family-friendly choice. That said, I do hope the hotel will consider upgrading the games and improving the children’s playground area in the future.
As for dining, I was impressed. The buffet is Halal, which is very convenient for Muslim guests. The food is diverse, flavorful, and reasonably priced. Whether dining at the buffet or ordering from the restaurant, the meals were both affordable and satisfying.
In summary, my stay at New Chaung Tha Hotel was relaxing and enjoyable, thanks largely to the dedication and kindness of the staff. I sincerely appreciate their excellent service and hope they continue maintaining — and even enhancing — this high level of hospitality in the future. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and look forward to...
Read moreLet me be straight I'm not a harsh reviewer but hotel is straight up bad. ROOMS: normal rooms are so bad. It used to be good couple of years ago but now It's really dirty. They don't open power generator when there is no electricity. DONT GET ME STARTED ON the dirts on the bed sheet. I ordered an extra bed for one of my friends and there were dirts on the bedsheets. I don't know about rich rooms but normal rooms are bad bad. For the price I would just recommend you to go stay at other hotel unless you watch to go around a bigger beach Overall hotel rooms i would say normal rooms are 1/5 for me
Service: For, Breakfast you dont even get the basic eggs. Imagine a 4.0 hotel don't even serve you eggs in the morning. Toaster is broken and I had to wait a long time. Tea time you get really limited choices. Coffee is from the coffe mix packs. For the night, they don't serve you dinner so yeaa pretty bad expensive for me. Overall service is 2/5 for me
Location: As I said it got really big beach but there are crowds. If you dont care about the beach having so much people it's good. You can ride banana boats and stuff but since the hotel near the village, there are lots of local people who will sell things no matter how you refuse. You also got horse people whose horses just straight up dl their waste on the beach sand Location 3/5 for me
For the price I would recommend finding other hotels that's a bit far from...
