Global Grace Pindaya Hotel — Hotel in Taunggyi District

Most travellers only stop in Pindaya for a few hours - if at all - to visit the caves but we had decided to spend one night at the Global Grace hotel - the only decent hotel in Pindaya. It was not an unpleasant experience but rather a sad one because of the unfulfilled potential of the place. The hotel us facing the Pone Taloke lake. The lake is very pretty and lively with villagers washing their clothes and themselves in a joyful atmosphere. The hotel itself is badly run down and in serious need of modernisation/refurbishment. The furniture/carpet/bedding is old and the place is un-exciting. Because of long (2-3 hours) and frequent power cuts, the absence of AC and wifi is both annoying and uncomfortable (38C temperature). We have stayed in much better hotels in Myanmar (including in Yangon) for the same price. So it would be possible to turn this into a cosy experience that would make us...

My lovely wife and I spent one night at this hotel when visiting Pindaya. I have to admit that my hopes weren't high based on reviews on this esteemed site and elsewhere. However, at $27 a night, it was one of only a couple of options in our price range so we decided to go for it. In the event, I was actually pleasantly surprised at how nice it was was. Our room was a good size and came with a spacious balcony overlooking the lake. Everything was a bit careworn around the edges but it was clean and comfortable enough. Certainly adequate for a one night stay. Moreover, the staff were friendly and helpful - they let us check in at 930am, booked us bus tickets for our onwards journey and sent us on our way at 630am with a packed breakfast. Not brilliant by any means but definitely a decent...

Pure revelation : wandering and going around in Myanmar for 6 years (partly job, partly adventure, sometimes both !), I only discover PINDAYA for the 1st time this month of February 2019.||I fell in love with the place, the peace there, the cave and the scenery behind, Genius coffee not far, the weather, the lake, the people... most peaceful place in mainstream Myanmar (if you want absolute peace, you can also go on top on Hkakabo Razi ;-) ).||And then, most lovely hotel to enjoy this peace is...
