This is the accommodation that is affiliated with one of the trekking companies - Robin from Golden Lily in Kalaw. After finishing a 3day trek you end up here as this is where your luggage is. We had not organised accommodation and walking around or researching was the last thing we felt like. That is probably how they get most of their guests as it doesn't get many reviews. |We shared a 3 bed room - 30,000/night with private bathroom, hot water and breakfast. |Room - tidy, reasonable space for 3 people, power sockets were hit and miss. Aircon and TV available but didn't use. |Bathroom - most bathrooms in south east Asia have a smell to them but this one was more bearable than the rest. The louvers in our bathroom connected to next doors - not that you could see in there as they were soooo high up but you could hear everything. |Breakfast - eggs how you would like, toast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Basic but you can have more eggs and toast until your content. |Staff friendly and helped book onward travel (like almost all guest houses, hostels and hotels). |Location pretty central. |Offer boat tour for $18USD/boat/7-8hrs (5pax per boat).|Would look at accommodation elsewhere just to see if the standard gets better but overall not the...
Read moreNot sure how this hotel has any good reviews.||||We stayed here after trekking from Kalaw to Inle Lake, and were looking forward to relaxing in a clean, comfortable basic room after 3 days of walking. Not to be. ||||We're happy to stay in pretty basic budget accommodation (and have paid far less than the 15USD for much better accommodation in SE Asia!) but this room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned since the day the hotel opened. It was filthy, rundown, and absolutely stank.||||There was dirt and sand all throughout the bed (as though another trekker had slept there previously and the sheets hadn’t been changed), a pile of dirt under our bed so thick it could only have been swept from the rest of the room there, a layer of dust over everything, soap scum all over the floor in the bathroom, brown stains in the toilet bowl, there were tears through all the curtains, no ventilation in the bathroom so it was mouldy. Wifi was almost nonexistent||||It’s such a shame, because every other guest house or hostel we’ve stayed in Myanmar has been so wonderfully hospitable and clean. ||||We left as soon as we could for another guesthouse. Don't waste your money here, stay...
Read moreThe hotel is a bargain at $25 a night. The room was simple and spacious with a balcony overlooking the town center of Nyaung shwe. Located just one block away from the Mingalar Market, it is accessible to most amenities in town. The staff were courteous and helpful, and most can understand and speak English. ||Just beside the hotel is the T&T Minimart where you can find grocery items. My wife forgot her hair comb, and we were lucky to find one in there. Most of the bars, restaurants and travel agents are just walking distance. Breakfast was good, with eggs prepared either boiled, scrambled sunny-side, selection of bread or fried rice with fruits (banana and papaya) and free flowing brewed coffee!||The only deficient is the lack of hot water in the bath, and with temperature at 15 degrees, you can do away with early morning bath, and that for a Filipino is a great...
