Interesting story with this Hotel. When we arrived, we were positively surprised by the quality and size of the rooms, lush gardens, beautiful view of the lake, everything looked perfect... it was a 5 star review coming their way. BUT...
Wifi - It turned out there was no wifi in the rooms. Come on, this is 2017, technology to extend wifi coverage beyond the lobby/restaurant is not expensive and available in every country. -star Massage- My wife is a certified physiotherapist and she wanted to try the Burmese massage in the spa ( 30 usd price tag). You would expect for such a price to receive a premium service in asia. It turned out to be the worst massage in her life. The massage therapist had absolutely no skills whatsoever... sad -half star Food - we stayed at 4 different hotels in Myanmar during our trip and had food in hotel restaurants and local places. Unfortunately the food at Inle Resort was very low quality. We had dinners in local places for 30% of the price but with 130% of the taste of Inle Resort. Breakfasts however were OK. -half star Service - I understand it is difficult to find qualified staff in rural areas of Myanmar but the incident we had at check out was a bit too much. We were on our way out of the hotel and suddenly one of the working staff ran towards us shouting "shoe stick, shoe stick..." "what the hell" I thought. He gave me the reception manager on the phone and yes, we started conversing out a missing shoe stick from our room. The shoe stick, I then remembered, was left by my son in the bar area, which I communicated to the receptionist. However even before checking he said he would charge me 8 USD for it. The situation was absurd. I got treated like a thief upon check out and asked to pay 8 bucks for a piece of wood even though I spent more than 160 bucks worth of extras beyond the room cost. Never in my life I have been treated such way in a hotel. The stick (sic!) was eventually found in the bar and I was let go to the airport. -2 stars Inle Resort, you have so much potential but still a...
Read moreThe view from the lake side is beautifull, and the whole concept of lake side / floating villas is neat. Staff was very polite and helpful, wifi worked ok. The hotel itself is beautifull. Our experience:
Well..simply a paradise. I arrived here tired from hours and hours on busses around Myanmar and this place was a relief. The road to the reception and the room were long but gave me the chance to appreciate the nature surrounding the resort. It's beautiful everywhere, the reception, the restaurant, the rooms are clean and ordered, the swimming pool is crazy, beautiful and immerse in the green, and from there you can have access to the gym and the spa. But the most amazing thing are the piers on the lake from were, sitting on a deck chair, you can relax and enjoy an incredible and amazing sunset. I ate every night at the restaurant inside because it was simply a pleasure, huge comfortable, cozy and welcoming place with great staff and good food. Breakfast was the best moment, a wide variety of super good food enjoyed while kisses by the sun! The best place where I have been in Burma for an amazing price, the better spent money of my trip. I was going to cry while I was leaving after 4 amazing and relaxing day that regenerated me! If you are looking for peace and quiet don't hesitate to book this place! Hope to...
