I booked through Agoda on 16/Nov/18 for 2 nights 21-23/Nov/18. Booking was confirmed, payment is for authorization, and voucher was received as usual from Agoda.||I am a regular traveler and Agoda user by the way.||I arrived at the hotel by 9PM, when I said to the staff that I booked thru Agoda, they started asking me for details so I showed my passport and Agoda voucher, it took them around 30 minutes and they told me they cannot find my booking, then they said they could not contact Agoda. It was 10PM already and we haven't got a room still, and they said they don't have any available room for me, and that they did not receive any email or confirmation from Agoda for my booking. They told me to transfer to different hotel, and all good and hotels are fully booked already. They decided to transfer me to a lower class hotel, which I have no choice already so I had to take. Then we said, where is the car, because we don't have car. So they arranged. When we reached the other hotel, I was more surprised and got irritated as I had to pay for the car and the hotel again!||I tried to call them, their line is not good. Then when I luckily spoke to them, I angrily said, why I have to pay for everything again? The only answer given to me is that I have not to worry because I will get refunded for my booking from them once they have cancelled with Agoda. Then the phone hung up.||After I checked in at the new lower class hotel, I called Agoda Malaysia, I asked for confirmation on my booking, they said it was confirmed and sent to Kalaw Princess hotel. Then they contacted the hotel after I stated my frustration. They said that no available room anymore, but when I checked in Agoda application, there is still available for that night.||After Agoda Malaysia, Agoda Thailand reached out on me to confort me and assured me of better relocation, though they did not find, at least they tried, unlike the Kalaw Princess Hotel!||This is the first time I experienced not given accommodation for paid booking in Agoda, and treated like nobody in a foreign country.||Though, I commend Agoda for reaching me out and trying to solve the issue. ||That is my story. Read moreHotel Entrance view was a pretty good spot to take photo (for those photography enthusiasts). The location was pretty close to kalaw clock station (significant one) and kalaw train station as well. Welcoming treat from reception once reaching to the hotel was pretty good for me. Downside of this hotel is cannot get hot water during the showering. Don’t be amaze when you shower, u’ll get chilled down to the spine. At first, I didn’t realised that and thought the heater was spoiled and call the reception to check. Even after calling them 2 times, no service personnel was coming to the room. In the end, i’ve aware of it myself when i turn the knob to switch from hot and cold and it’s not that the heater is not working instead the heating system was not making the water hot enough even after waiting for almost 15mins. In the end, the whole family have to take shower with cold water while the outside temperature was 16 degree celcius but still manageable :). |Hotel provided daily breakfast which was pretty good and much variety (local and foreign dishes) to choose from.
