Maison Hotel @ Ayetharyar — Hotel in Taunggyi District

I was warmly welcome as the first guest of this hotel in Mar 2017. As I have been working in this travel industry for more than 10 years. I travelled for inspection Myanmar for the 3rd time (half month for each visit), and this was the first time I stayed in Taunggyi.|I had not expected Taunggyi to be interesting, however this was much nicer than I thought.|This hotel was very new (newly opened), with a variety of room categories, with good price, I mean good value for money.|Around Inle Lake, I prefer to stay 1 night in Taunggyi and I think Taunggyi is good for visit rather than Kalaw in deed.|Within walking distance from this Maison B&B we can go to a wineyard in Taunggyi, and take a few minutes to drive to some pagodas in the town.|At night time, walking around hotel and on street is not encouraged, cause the street is very dusty with a lot of trucks, cars. I had to walk a little far to find a local restaurant, however this was fine eventually.|Hotel GM and all staffs were very nice, hospitable, they also escorted me to inspect all roomtypes, cafeteria nextdoor was also used for serving breakfast.|I personally think this is a very good choice...

My experience here was no frills. The room was clean and the staff was outstanding. It's really because of the staff that I bumped my three stars to four. A friend who knows the area said that this is the best stay in the area without bumping up to a 4 or 5 star hotel. The breakfast was decent. The cook surprised us with some pizza which was tasty. But the star was the coffee. Again, no frills from what I saw but a truly good Americano. I would recommend it if you're traveling...
