We were looking to stay somewhere slightly secluded on the lake so this hotel seemed absolutely perfect. All my questions regarding getting there were swiftly answered which made everything much easier. A boat from Nyaungshwe costs 15000K and takes around 40 minutes - any boat driver can take you there. Just be aware that the boats tend to stop after dusk.||||Check-in was easy and you can pay on card with no extra percentage fee. We were given bungalow 211 which had a balcony facing out to sunset. It was absolutely perfect sitting out and watching the sky change to glorious hues. The rooms are constructed from a lovely dark wood and the windows slightly tinted to give more privacy. It was super clean and the bed very comfortable. Water is not supplied in plastic bottles but from a dispenser meaning you can get refills whenever you'd like.||||As most have mentioned, earplugs are supplied and we slept well wearing them. However, I enjoyed the life on the lake and found watching the hustle and bustle on the lake interesting, along with observing the comedic gulls gather and sit in a huge line down the fence and squabble with each other. There definitely seemed to be fewer boats on the Saturday morning, so perhaps weekends are a bit less busy.||||We stayed for three nights and went on two one day boat tours during this time. I'm not sure if there is much to do at the hotel otherwise, although there is a lovely viewing tower and an outside seating area. There is also a spa service, although it is slightly dearer than most other places I have been (understandably given the more isolated location).||||Breakfast was very comprehensive with a huge amount of choice including local soup, bacon, omelettes made to order, cereal and pancakes. We also had dinners at the hotel which were fine and reasonably priced.||||I was expecting to have issues with mosquitoes due to proximity to the water, but we barely saw a single one our entire stay. The staff offered to fumigate the rooms but we declined as it wasn't required. We didn't even use the mosquito net supplied. There was a constant strong refreshing breeze present during our stay which may have explained the lack of bugs.||||The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. They organised our transfer to HeHo airport using local transport (so it was cheaper than booking the official hotel transfer) which ended up as 35000K total.||||If you're looking for a place that's a little more hidden away and serene, I would massively...
Read moreI booked them through Agoda as they offered to arrange transportation from HeHo airport to the hotel and were actually on the lake.||The reviews were okay so I was happy. ||They not only failed to email confirming that they had received my booking and how to meet the driver etc but when I called them to verify everything was in order was told no we don’t actually arrange transportation. ||When explained that I only booked them because it would be handled by the property (HeHo is 50km from the lake and then u must take a local water taxi to actually get to the property - complicated and leaves u at the mercy of the local drivers outside the airport which as any traveler knows are always awful) they then said that since it had been previously booked they would sort it out and to|please email my flight details.||The people that check the emails are not on the property and do not communicate with them apparently as I was given general directions to the peer and told to work it out myself.||When I landed and realized the mess I again called and was told they must contact management (Amazing Hotels) in Yangon. ||I was then treated riding by an additional 3 people and rather than just canceling the booking and apologizing I was told to calm down and that I needed worry about being in a tiny by this hour closed registration airport but to just take a cab to another of their locations no where near the one I had booked. ||Only when I got agoda involved did they cancel the booking and send me horrible email pretending to apologize for the mix up but actually blaming me for not guessing that what they offered on agoda was actually not true.||They also made up some lie about arranging transportation from the airport being very complicated and requiring 3 days advance notice! ||Lies and deceit and rudeness is all u can expect from them. ||Do not deal with any of their properties unless u want a...
Read moreWe were looking for a traditionally built hotel inside Inle Lake rather than many others such as Sofitel, Novotel, etc which, while still on the Lake on one side, are also accessible by road. ||Paramount Inle Resort can only be accessed by by boat and is built like many other structures on the Lake, wooden cottages on wooden poles. ||We has a deluxe cottage. It was fairly comfortable and of moderate size. It was furnished with a desk and a chair, another two chairs and a small table by the window and two easy chairs in the outside balcony which were useful for watching the sunset from the privacy of your room. ||We had asked for a large bed but the room appeared to be designed only for twin beds so they must have shifted the bedside table between the two beds to one side and brought two beds together. As a result, the bed side lamps on the wall behind were askew. One bed didn't have a bedside lamp behind nor a bedside table.||A slightly larger cottage side could have accommodated a wardrobe as well, which was lacking. A little more lighting in the room would have been comfortable. ||We had put small and big towels on the floor or in the tub. Worldwide convention is that such towels are to be changed. We noticed that instead of being changed, they were merely folded and put back on the shelf. They were promptly replaced but the housekeeping staff needs to be trained properly.||We were not disturbed by the sound of boats outside but the hotel had thoughtfully put earplugs in the room.||We were stating 3 nights there. As the boats stop plying practically after sunset and as the hotel has no road connectivity, it meant having dinner in the same restaurant all 3 nights. But we found the choice of menu and cuisines as also the quality of food excellent, yet reasonably priced. ||Overall, we enjoyed...
