After a long ride from Yangon, a rather interesting ride in a crowded truck, and a short (if energetic) walk from the loading station, one is warmly welcomed by at the checkin desk, given a refreshing bottle of cool water and ushered to your room.||Rooms are basic, but adequate and most importantly clean and the beds are comfortable. The water is hot and there is a TV and aircon, although it wasn’t necessary on this trip as it was quite cool already.||The grounds are beautiful, full of scented flowers and pathways leading you down to the main building which has an area for wifi, although sitting on the balcony and chatting is a preferred event.||The staff are very friendly and helpful, although the eagle eyes watching your every move over meals is a bit distracting, but plates are cleared immediately and you are attended to quickly, politely and eagerly!||If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a town centre, then this might not be the place for you, but if you want clean air and peace and quiet (the trucks stop in the evening), the this is the place to be, a halfway house between Kingpun and the Golden Rock itself.||I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend at least one night as a break from the daily stress of getting around. ||One point to note, if you have a lot of baggage, or struggle walking uphill, then take the trucks to the top and change to one coming down which will drop you at the hotel. For the time being: stay...
