Golden Guest Inn — Hotel in Yangon

The owner personally manages this family Guest House. He was the most helpful manager of any Guest House or Hotel I have every stayed in in Yangon. It has everything it advertises to have. To my amazement and to help with managing the difficulty that can be experienced with foreign currency the Guest House accepted my Visa Card. I have rebooked in there on my way back to Australia and would defiantly recommend it to others. The only negative thing about the place is the location it's on the main Insein Road. However the wonderful old heritage style building is set well back off the road in a nice garden setting.

This is a new review dated the 14th July 2017 as I have just returned from another trip to Burma / Myanmar. As I wrote before I rebooked for my son and I for a night on our return journey to Australian via Rangoon / Yangon. Stayed the night before flying home. The service was as we expected first rate.**

On this most resent visit to Chin State Burma / Myanmar four of us went. On our return journey from Nyaung Oo we went directly to the GGI ( my son had pre booked ) where the four of us stayed for two nights. My two friends who had not been to Burma or Rangoon before were as impressed with the accomodation, the Owner manager, the staff, the food and the service as I have been. I certainly recommend the GGI. My son, his wife and several of their younger children and myself will be making a return visit to Mindat Chin State in December this year. I would want to share our wonderful experience in Yangon, Myanmar. We went there last March 14 to March 17, 2019 to do Leaders Training Weekend. Since it is our first time in Myanmar we don't know the place but our friend Teacher Mang recommended us to stay in Golden Guest Inn and it was a great experience for me and my wife. First, let us start with the price, for less than US$150 for 4 days and 3 nights it is definitely a winner. Plus lots of freebies in the room like water, coffee, tea etc. The reception is very accommodating and Ted was very helpful in booking our Grab wherever we go. He always makes it a point that the driver knows where to take us and even talks to the driver just to be sure. Our room is always kept clean, tidy with clean sheets. Our friends who visited us were surprised with how affordable and yet our room is big enough, comfortable and safe. We definitely recommended Golden Guest Inn to our friends who are visiting Yangon and will continue to recommend them because its like our second home away from the Philippines. This hotel is not flashy or glamorous. Instead it’s a very comfortable and convenient home away from home. ||The reason for my enthusiasm is the impeccable care and attention given by two generations of owners who really go out of their way to make guests’ lives as easy as possible.
