We stayed at Hotel Sabrina from March 7-14, 2021 to complete our quarantine here as required by the Nepalese government. The room was exactly as shown online. We requested and received a room with a balcony which was incredibly helpful as we did not leave our room for the first 5 days of our stay (until we received a negative COVID test).||||The staff at Hotel Sabrina were very gracious, professional and helpful. Some staff had fairly good English language skills, and most others were able to speak enough English to complete food orders and answer simple questions.||||The food at Hotel Sabrina is incredible. For those in quarantine, there is a specific menu if you pay for the American meal package as part of your quarantine package. This includes about 5 staple meals that are offered for lunch and dinner (with slight variations) and different options for breakfast. Each meal is very good, however over the course of 7 days, these meals can get a bit tiresome. You can order anything off of their regular menu if need be, however you will pay the charges listed on the menu for these services. The portions for each meal are huge - you will not go hungry in quarantine! ||||The cleaning staff came in each day to clean our room and were very thorough. Overall our room was kept very clean throughout our stay. The back of the washroom door could have used with a wipe, but besides that the room was very clean.||||The hotel is located on a fairly busy street, so we could hear the city activities during the day, although this is the case for almost all of Kathmandu. The streets are very quiet at night though, so we had no issues with noise once it was dark outside. ||||The wifi in our room (which was on the third floor) had fairly good wifi. We were able to make video calls, stream shows, etc. with very few issues or pauses...
Read moreHotel Sabrina has exceeded my expectations and is great value for money in Kathmandu. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the facilities, including the bathroom, are excellent. All rooms have a separate balcony to sit and enjoy the view over the city and the nearby mountains.||The rooftop restaurant, which is far above the roofs of the surrounding buildings, is the hotel's unique selling point. The ambience and the outstanding quality of the food invite you to linger. In addition, there is a cosy infinity pool and a very well-stocked fitness centre. I visited the latter almost every day during my stay and was very happy with the high-quality equipment. ||The hotel is located in the much quieter north of the city. Nevertheless, it is easily accessible by public transport, taxis and Pathao, the Nepalese Uber app. ||For day hiking, the beautiful Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is basically just around the corner. Shivapuri Peak, at 2,732 meters altitude, overlooks the whole of Kathmandu valley and offers stunning views of the Langtang Massif, including the Langtang peak at 7,234 meters altitude.||Finally, I would like to highlight the staff. Rarely have I experienced such helpful, friendly and attentive service personnel. Individual requests were always addressed, and I was also given great support with special requests. For example, I had forgotten my headphones on my plane and needed help to reach the Lost and Found Office. The staff then assisted me to research the correct contact numbers and organized a car to bring me to the airport and back to reclaim my headphones.||Overall: A fantastic stay, and next time I come to Nepal, I will definitely...
