It had nicely maintained clean rooms, well-suited for a short get away, not too far from the crowd and dust of the city. The person in charge was fun and very friendly to talk to( from Denmark if my memory doesn't fail me this time) but the services can be improved like mainly the menu was quite limited. The lodge must be around 15 kms roughly from lalitpur, to lessen your hassle follow the directions properly. You need to take a right towards dollu village which comes after Pharping but if you happen to reach Dakshinkali then be notified that you have missed the turn and now you have to turn back. Hot water was provided as well. There are lots of hiking options available to nearby places and you will be surrounded by green forests untill your eyes can see. They allow your pets as well. Isn't that wonderful? Also though limited, but the food provided was very healthy, felt just like home cooked meals. Enjoyed the...
Read moreWe were just looking for a getaway from Kathmandu and decided to drive to Dakshinkali to the monastery and generally have a peaceful time. We just happened to Google and see if we could stay some place and bumped into this little Hamlet surrounded by hills and forest. We received a warm welcome from Meena and Simon who own the place. Solid Rock is the place one must visit to experience the local hospitality and food. A totally organic vegetarian place with clean rooms and breath taking view. If you love hiking the trial's are very safe and if you are lucky as we were you get to see some wildlife too. I think in our whole stay this was the best stay and an opportunity to experience the local people and food. I highly recommend this place which is not too far from Kathmandu. Just about 13 to 14 kilometres from...

Even though it was busy when I arrived without booking before (a group of runners made a big reservation) they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I also love how beautiful and quiet the place is, it is exactly what I needed at the end of my trip. ||||However, even though it is quiet there is a lot to do in the area as well! There are a lot of beautiful monastries and meditation caves and the hike over the small paths through the pine forest on the hills are beautiful too. I took it easy and mostly just sat around the lodge drinking lemon grass tea from their beautiful garden and reading my book. The food was great as well, very fresh and tasty. If I could have stayed longer I...
