Hotel View Bhrikuti — Hotel in Godawari

The first thing I want to mention about this hotel is their exceptional service. I stayed here for 5 days and the service of the staff here was commendable. They were willing to accommodate our needs, polite and friendly. The food was average, nothing great but was just fine. I got a room in the old building facing towards the pool which was quiet and had basic amenities. Hair dryer and iron were available on request. There are quite a few meeting halls accomodating different numbers of people. The swimming pool was a disappointment as they were slippery. There is one pool for children and one for adults but the adults one isn't beginner friendly as the whole pool was around 5ft deep. The ambience of the whole area is calm and quite good. The rooms appeared clean but the smell of sewer was pretty bad. Customer service was particularly uncomforting. I had requested a single room for two days just in case i needed to accommodate a family member. After me and my elderly dad who drove me there checked in, the manager tracked me down while i was at a dinner event and told me having a second person in the room would cost another $70. Hotels rooms generally have an occupancy of 4 so, I cannot understand why he would make occupancy of 2 an issue. I ended up not staying at the hotel first night because of this. It was such a unpleasant experience. I hope they learn to be upfront about their occupancy policy and fees. Also why be nosey if a hotel guest has a family member with him/ her or not? The main road that leads to the hotel needs immediate attention of the government. Once inside the hotel, the world is different. A budget hotel is very nice and cozy. Food is fine. The staff is good. I couldn't see many tourists flocking the property. Instead the hotel's main business seems to be organising meetings and conversations. The hotel provides pick up and drop to airport. I stayed in a suite and found foul smell emanating from the toilet. To avoid this the exhaust fan has to be switched on for 24 hours. I was shocked to notice water flow from the taps and shower lack force. So it was difficult to mix hot and cold water while bathing. The overall experience was okay.
