Since I was doing the trek on my own, I rather wanted keep trekking until monjo instead of stopping in Phakding like most of people. ||I wont lie these extra 7 km were hard but definitely worth it. With an higher altitude, it helps the body to acclimate to altitude and the view was just wow.||Good variety of food available, but pricing gets higher as you trekking up, be aware.||I would not recommend chicken curry because it was full of bones with not much of meat. Otherwise it was very good, so if you don't mind the bones, go ahead with this plate.||I was asked 2 time to fill in my plate with rice and veggies with no charge. To be honest this was really appreciated considered the amount of energy spent on that day.||Room were basic, but comfy. You can have access to a room with a bathroom (500 rs) or without (100 rs).||Showers were available for 200 rs, but I can't confirm whether or not there was hot water or not since I used baby wipes. ||Toilet were pretty basic as well. Don't forget to carry your toilet paper.||I'd definitely recommend a down jacket after sunset since it's getting really cold. Maybe the fatigue from the trek didn't help. Make sure you have a good sleeping bag too.||Wifi was available, but not working at the time I stayed there. I didn't really mind, I was in bed by 7h45. ||Staff was really helpful.||I would definitely recommend this place if you intend to do the Everest...
Read moreOur first official accommodation of our EBC trek and we were lucky to be the only guests that day! Room’s cleanliness could be improved but you’ll be alright if you’re not fussy. Pillow looked like it hasn’t been washed so I had to use my pillow cover to sleep on. The lady owner was super friendly though!
Toilet was huge but the floor was made of concrete which made it really cold and uncomfortable to stand and walk on. The drain wasn’t absorbing water fast enough that it almost flooded the toilet when showering. Dal Bhat for dinner was decent, apple pancake we had for breakfast wasn’t good.
Personally the highlight of my stay here was definitely the outside/surrounding views of the lodge. Managed to take some really sick, moody shots of the outside in the evening and in the morning you can catch Kusum Kanguru in...
Read moreStayed here with a group of six spread over 3 rooms. All rooms had individual instant hot water showers which was most appreciated in very cold February. A nice warm fire was made available and kept stoked up in the dining / general meeting room. Food good. All for a reasonable price. The best of the places we stayed at including Lukla and Namche Bazar. All run by a young woman in her mothers absence.||||Another advantage is that Monju is further along towards Namche, thus making the tough uphill trek into Namche the next day much easier than if you stayed in Phakding. Really Phakding is too close to Lukla to be the first nights...
