The worst experience in my many trips to Nepal.|The owner tenzing only thinks about money not clients.|Avoid this lodge.||Booked three rooms, but after crossing the long Cho La pass and the glacier, and arriving at 6pm, tenzing said there are no rooms available, because we had to arrive before 4pm. He tried to manage the situation and find new rooms for almost 2 hours and I got a bit angry for the long waiting and incompetence, as my group was very tired and also sick. He said there are two rooms available at a different lodge, but before going there, made me say "sorry for being angry" and beg for the rooms or "sleep on the street", in front of my group, which is completely unacceptable. The "new" rooms were small, old and dirty at an old lodge, completely different from the booked ones.|The next day he also avoided me in Gokyo and didn't come to talk about the situation or say sorry.||Hope this review changes someones mind about staying at Gokyo...
Read moreI have been hiking in the Himalayas throughout 3 seasons and Gokyo Namaste Lodge is the best lodge I have stayed in so far. The food was very tasty, the common room is cozy and always warm (unlike most of other lodges). ||We chose Namaste lodge because people on the trail recommended this place and the recommendations were absolutely correct. This place is the best in the area, do not hesitate even a second to stay here.||Tenzing Sherpa and the rest of the crew are very kind and helpful. We actually had some difficulties when our porter got sick and Tenzing helped us promptly to resolve the issue. ||I would have gladly stayed here a few more days or even a week, but we had to descend to meet our porter in a lower village... Gokyo Namaste lodge is undoubtedly my favorite Himalayan...
Read moreI spent two nights at this lodge with my friend while doing the three passes trek in winter 2015/16. The owner Nawang Passang and his wife are extremely friendly and welcoming people. Pasang was born here and has been living and working as a professional guide and mountaineer in this region ever since. We especially enjoyed staying at this lodge in the authentic Sherpa village Khumjung - also by far less crowded than Namche Bazar. From the comfy lodge restaurant you will have a breathtaking view on the sunset over Ama Dablam (the most majestic mountain of this region i think) while enjoying a tasty dinner. I surely will come...
