I had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful homestay in Nagadesh, Bhaktapur, and it was truly a memorable experience. The home was spotlessly clean, with a modern yet cozy ambience that immediately made me feel welcome. The blend of traditional Nepali culture and contemporary comforts was just perfect—especially the well-equipped modern kitchen, which was a great bonus.

Located right in the heart of Nagadesh, the homestay offers a genuine cultural experience. The area is rich with local traditions, and I loved exploring the vibrant night vegetable market just a short walk away. It gave me a true taste of local life.

What truly made the stay exceptional was the host. The owner is incredibly humble, warm, and kind-hearted, always ready to help and make guests feel at home. Their hospitality went above and beyond, making my stay feel more like a visit to a friend’s home than a rented place.

I’ve been a traveler and have stayed short-term in different places almost constantly, and I’m confident that you couldn’t ask for a better homestay than this. I planned to spend 2 months here but ended up extending my stay to 4 months, and whenever I return to Kathmandu, this is always my go-to place. The place is always clean and has a comfortable, pleasant smell. The host is super attentive and friendly. They even have a separate fully equipped kitchen. My favorite thing about the stay is its location. It feels like a mini Square, you can stroll around the area, casually catch a mini stupa, several Hindu temples, local kids doing their thing, a pond with Nepali architecture, and more. The yard in front of the building is where people of the town gather during festivals, and apparently the homestay provides you with the best view to enjoy those cultural activities. Restaurants and local newar food are also within walking distance.
