i know Kalu dai (good hearted and hospitable man) for many years and could tell how the hotel is evolving to the better place over the years. planted trees around the place will make nice garden some day. this year western toilet was available in room 111. soon power lines will reach Yak Kharka and rooms/expirience will be even better with charging in the rooms. ย ย ย Read moreOn one hand, you can get a room with an attached toilet. On the other hand, the only shower is located just outside the kitchen, so you have to go through it to get inside. It's a gas shower that operates only at 20 or 70 degrees Celsius, nothing between (cold burns or hot burns, you can get both). And in the middle, the water just stopped pouring๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ. That fun experience costs 200 NPR per person.
Note, that from this area on towards the pass, the locals rely on solar energy. So expect to pay and stand in line for charging your phone. We had a solar charger (21W) that saved us...
