We had a wonderful stay at Thorong Peak Hotel in Yak Kharka. Reserving the room in advance was a breeze, and everything was perfectly prepared upon our arrival. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a double bed, a small table, and a separate bathroom. The guesthouse has a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by the beautiful prayer flags strung between the dining and sleeping areas. I especially loved the evening lighting, which created a peaceful ambiance.
The dining area was spacious and kept wonderfully warm - perfect after a day of trekking. The food was excellent! We enjoyed mixed spring rolls with fries, macaroni with tomato and cheese, and the classic Dal Bhat, all of which were delicious and satisfying. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Thorong Peak Hotel for anyone trekking in the area. Helpful, friendly, good english, warm fire (the first guest house that I didn't wear my puffy jacket and my hands were warm), comfortable sun room with southerly aspect, good shower, great to catch up on clothes washing, clothes lines and / or drying over fire, clean, good food, common areas out of the wind, homely welcoming decor!
