My stay at hotel Panauti was lifted by the energetic, friendly and helpful staff. However, even they could not raise my opinion of the hotel rooms which are tired and in need of repair (I looked at a few and chose the least worst).||||The beds had simple, thin foam pads, the bed linen, if a little fryed was at least clean. The bathroom was in a poor state: the toilet seat was broken and detached, there was no hot water (not uncommon in hotels in Nepal) and the water pressure was low. The restaurant was closed for refurbishment (I was not told this when booking in, the only criticism of the staff) and it was suggested to use a place close by *the food here was not so good and it was more of a bar with noisy, drunken locals than a place to eat). ||||It was over-priced for what it was and despite getting a clear statement that no tax was to be added to the bill, on check out it was. Read moreFirstly the rooms are clean and the showers have HOT water, all fixtures are attached and working well. This hotel is a busy place and has a lovely vibe and mixed clientele. Privately Owned by Nepalese, this hotel is warm, inviting, great Buffett food and fantastic for large events.
The bedding was clean, pillows, clean and the mattress was clean, and supportive but not like hard.
For the price this modest hotel can easily give Boutique hotels a run for the money as long as you don’t expect all the Razzamataz of paying thousands of Rupees. We ended up asking to stay another day. The young man on reception was articulate and warm hearted. This is a place I will ensure I don’t forget for next time.

Taste was ok but quantity very smaal.
