First for the major plus, the staff here are extremely friendly. No problems there.||But there are a few things to keep in mind about this place:||||-Location is not very good. It's not close to Lumbini. You can take a jeep and local bus (will cost you a total of 75rs) and it will take about an hour to an hour and a half depending on how long the bus sits idle and how lucky you are in catching a jeep. Other hotels seem to be right outside the entrance of Lumbini.||-Rooms aren't very clean. Tons of bugs the first night I was here. Hairs on my bed. The problem is their door hasn't really been installed correctly in the sense that there is a small gap between the door frame and the door which allows insects to walk in (see my photo)||-Power outtages seem to be more frequent here than elsewhere in Nepal||-No room service/cleaning. Which is expected of course, but I mention this because they DO have people come in to check to see if you've turned off electrical appliances (I know because I left the fan on) but they don't bother tidying anything up. I dunno I just feel if you're going to have people come into your room without permission, then you should at least do some cleaning. But maybe I'm asking for too much.||||Overall fine place to stay. They'll book a bus for you to Kathmandu if you want. And their kitchen's food is pretty good.||||Also, don't bother getting the breakfast package, you can just order separately here. It'll save...

Read moreOur experience with Hotel Lumbini International was amazing right from the outset. We had missed our bus stop so ended up getting off quite a distance away from the arranged meeting point for the hotel pick up. After a quick call to the hotel they said to wait where we were and a couple of the staff members came and picked us up with no hassle.||The manager also was very helpful in arranging us transport over the Indian border to Varanasi, a trip which would have otherwise been very tricky and time consuming. ||The actual room was very nice, with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and a balcony with a...
