Review of Nagarjun Resort
Today, I visited Nagarjun Resort, which claims to be a 4-star ⭐ hotel. After a full inspection and experience, I found the stay extremely disappointing. My observations are as follows: Room Cleanliness: The rooms are spacious, but dust is visible everywhere, indicating poor housekeeping. Bathrooms: Bathrooms are of standard size but poorly maintained, with noticeable spots and stains. Beverage Service: We ordered a double-shot coffee ☕ and a pot of milk tea 🍵. Shockingly, the manager informed us that their coffee machine was out of order. For a hotel claiming 4-star ⭐ status, this is highly unacceptable. Service Delays: It took around 15 minutes to serve tea/coffee. Later, when we requested a glass of boiling hot water with pink salt, it arrived after 20 minutes despite repeated reminders. The service staff, Captain Srijana, initially failed to apologize for the delay. Overall Service: Despite the hotel prominently displaying “4-star ⭐” at the entrance, the overall service and management quality were far below expectations. As professionals familiar with the hospitality industry, my girlfriend and I were deeply disappointed. Management Issues: The hotel has no General Manager. The Resident Manager is absent on weekends, which is unacceptable for a property of this claimed standard. Recommendation: I strongly urge the board of directors (apparently based in the USA 🇺🇸) to hire a dynamic and professional General Manager instead of retaining the current Resident Manager, Mr. Jagadish Bhattarai.
Rating: My girlfriend and I would rate Nagarjun Resort 2.5/10, far below the minimum standards expected from a 4-star hotel, both nationally...
Read moreI had the opportunity to stay at Nagarjun Resort during the “Hands-on Training on GIS-Based Watershed Management in Nepal” organized under the Developing Climate Resilient Livelihoods in Vulnerable Watersheds in Nepal (DCRL) Project from 2082 Bhadra 20 to 23. The entire experience was enriching, both academically and personally.
The resort proved to be an excellent venue for an intensive training program. The conference hall was spacious and well-organized, creating a smooth learning environment. The peaceful natural surroundings further enhanced the focus on watershed management and climate resilience, allowing participants to connect theory with the very landscapes we aim to protect.
Accommodation was comfortable, and the hospitality of the staff was warm and welcoming. Meals were fresh, balanced, and served on time, which helped maintain energy during the sessions.
What truly stood out at Nagarjun Resort were its unique facilities and design concepts. The wall cladding greenery gave the place a refreshing and eco-friendly charm, blending modern aesthetics with a natural vibe. For recreation and relaxation, the resort offered a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, and a dedicated kids’ zone—perfect for unwinding after training sessions and making the stay enjoyable for families as well.
Overall, Nagarjun Resort successfully combined professionalism with relaxation. It provided not only a conducive environment for capacity building but also an enjoyable retreat experience. I would highly recommend it as a venue for training programs, workshops, and...
Read moreRating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Nagarjun Palace was disappointing enough to share. I went there hoping to have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, but sadly, it didn’t turn out that way. The hotel seemed short on staff — service was slow and unorganized. The menu is overpriced, and when the food finally arrived, it looked very ordinary with no effort in presentation or plating. The dinner was the biggest letdown. Despite proudly claiming to have Nepal’s No.1 head chef, the food had no taste, no creativity, and zero variety. Under the MAP plan, they served just plain rice, simple daal, two basic vegetables, and two non-veg items that felt like everyday home-cooked food. For a hotel marketed as a 4-star property, this was really unacceptable. If you can’t offer a proper dining experience, at least don’t promote the MAP plan as something special. The rooms were clean, but the telephone didn’t work, which was inconvenient. The swimming pool was just okay, and while the jacuzzi could’ve been a highlight, only half of its jets were functional. Overall, the place seriously needs improvement — from food quality to service standards. I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. Definitely not the weekend experience I was hoping for, and I don’t plan on...
