Hotel De Boshoek — Hotel in Barneveld

Overall, I was happy with the facility. The bedroom/cabin I was in seemed newly renovated and very clean. Housekeeping was inconsistent day to day as sometimes I had my bed fully done and other days I had only the bed done while the accent cushions were left strewn on the side.||||I paid 61.00 euros/d for my room and 7.50 euros/d for breakfast with a 1.00 euro/d tourist fee from September 28-Oct. 5 (off season)||||The continental breakfast was a touch pricey at 7.50 euros (four buns, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, two slices of ham, two slices cheese, yogurt, one raw egg) and is the same every morning. They have a small grocery store on site that helps with getting some essentials like milk. However, if you go during the off season, the onsite store, restaurant and office have limited hours. I found this an inconvenience as I was there for a business seminar and couldn't get to the store or the office during the day. I would recommend a trip into Voorthuizen (20 min. walk) and buy groceries at AH (their local grocery chain) and cook up a nice meal for yourself in the kitchenette in your unit - much cheaper alternative.||||One BIG inconvenience was that they do NOT take VISA/MC/AExpress. You need to pay cash and they require payment upon registration on your first day. This is very odd - probably a local way of doing things but you then have no leverage to ask for your money back if you want to leave earlier or are not happy with the accommodations.||||The cabin also had a stale cigarette smell in it although I believe it was supposed to have been a...

We booked a lodge which suppose to be part of a hotel. In fact it is a lodge on a vacation park with a break on walking distance. On arrival after a long drive we could not enter. We had to drive to the reception for approximate 5 minutes and we were informed that our lodge was not yet clean. In about 15 minutes later we could enter the park. We really enjoyed our stay at the Boshoek,it was easy to plan,really last minute!we stayed for a weekend in one of the "hotelkamers" which is actually a small bungalow.It had kitchenette and a fridge so it was very handy since we could cook there.The big plus for us is that our dog could come with us and around the park are quiet areas or lakes where we could go walk with him.Our room was clean and looked new with modern lay out and comfy bed.We enjoyed our stay and we...
