We could finally come back after three years and although the owners have changed and the resort is not brand-new anymore, the personal helpful touch and attention for detail have remained the same. Masha danki to the whole team!||||Richard was visible on site most days, e. g. renewing the silicon lining on the pool, working on the hotel infrastructure, taking care of the laundry etc., always available for a nice chat and a beer as well. (The work was quiet and didn't disturb the guests at any time.)||Due to a delayed flight we arrived a bit later, but even at night someone let us in and brought the missing toilet paper within 15 minutes of our arrival at BBR. ||Another nice surprise was the Easter surprise left on our veranda table (chocolate eggs and a nice note).||The late check-out for the night flight back was no problem nor particularly expensive ($ 35). Tip: Sort out your payment a few days before you leave, so you have no pressure if there's e.g. a daily limit on your card.||||Another tip: Book your car (pick-up truck) as soon as possible, as some rental companies had to reduce their fleet during the pandemic and you might get stuck with a scooter or golf cart instead. We went with Tropical Car Rentals and were quite content with their service.||If you go diving, we recommend VIP Diving - the top reviews...
Read moreThe Bonaire Boutique Resort is very new, that's why it doesn't have many reviews yet. It is absolutely worth staying there during your holiday! Irma & Richard are very attentive and lovely hosts, they are at the resort in the morning and evening, checking if everything is alright and helping out if you need anything.||The BBR is a wonderful, beautiful little resort with only six private cottages, hidden away by palm trees, so you have complete privacy on your own little terrace or in the very new and modern cottage. If you're looking to meet other guests, the common area by the pool and BBQ is perfect for this and it's also very nicely designed. The resort was about 5-10 min drive from our dive shop. You'll need a car regardless of where you stay to go to the dive sites, the Slagbaai national park in the north, the salines in the southwest or the mangroves (kayaking) in the east. If you dive, get a Hilux pickup truck for tanks and equipment. ||Thank you for a wonderful stay, we'd love to come back soon! Highly...
Read moreOverall, we enjoyed our stay and did not experience a problem with dust (mentioned in other reviews). During the day you may hear trucks pass by. ||All 6 of the cabins at the same and face the pool. There is a small deck with chairs to lounge on and tables under the main roof to sit at. ||The cats are friendly and will wonder into your cabin if you let them (they like the cooler cement floors). ||There is a single A/C system unit in each cabin (located in the bedroom). While not powerful enough to cool the entire unit, it provides more than adequate cooling for the bedroom. ||The kitchen is well equipped. Instructions on how to use the oven would be helpful for those unaccustomed to using the European style unit. ||The staff are very attentive and accessible via WhatsApp. ||Negatively, we found the room to be dark with all the lights on (especially the bathroom) and the common area can get very warm during the afternoon (even with the windows and doors open). The ceiling fan helps, but can...
