We are a group of 3-4 families and we've been spending the last ten years a longer weekend in this park on an annual basis. We've always left the tents behind in a very clean state.
First of all, the atmosphere in the park is quite nice. But having said that, we've come here purely out of 'tradition', not due to the park's massive attractiveness.
The park's management is clearly riding its cash cows - the tents which were built a million years ago and which are way overpriced for the accommodation/standard offered. Further, the washrooms are overdue in renovation.
Now we've asked for a late checkout - at 12 instead of 10. The staff was not entirely friendly or service oriented in providing support. Rather the woman was adamant the tents had follow-up tenants - we checked online, and her statement was wrong. She also claimed the cleaning staff would need the time - out of own experience we know the cleaning staff spends a maximum of 5-10 minutes in the tents.
Thus, unfortunately we've made a very unpleasant encounter. We also urge the park's management to put capital into the right places (ie. washrooms).
And not offering a late checkout to customers is simply not the way to go...
All in all we have mixed feelings. For kids the park is surely very attractive. But as said, lack of renovation is wearing the standard down. Not sure if we will return. Our most recent experience of not even offering the late checkout has...
Read moreA very nice vacation park at a nice location in the middle of Hunzedal. The park is just at the edge of the Village Borger, so there is shopping and dining close by. If you do not feel like eating at the park restaurant or cook yourself.
All in all we were very positively surprised. We rented one of the budget chalets, having done this many times in other parks, we knew it sometimes can be a bit hit and miss. But, the chalet was decent and clean, had what you need, except an oven. It might be a little dated, the couches were not the most comfortable and it could have been nice with one or two sunbeds. But all in all it was more than acceptable.
The park itself is placed around a large artificial lake, which in the summer doubles as a swimming lake. Unfortunately a flock of Canada geese, one Nile Goose, a bar-headed goose and a few grey geese, had decided to make the lake their stomping grounds.
I will not blame the park management for this, it's difficult to control wildlife, and mind you, they were not aggressive or a real nuisance, they just quietly walked around the lake while keeping the lawn nice and neat while dropping fertilizer behind them.
Other than that, the facilities was more than decent, maybe a little dated. But everything felt clean and well maintained.
There is plenty of things to explore around the park and entertaining your kids should be no problem.

Read moreWe rented 4 houses here last weekend for a family birthday. The houses are roomier than some other parks and they're trying to modernize lamps & things, but overall the buildings are dated and dirty. Guests are expected to clean the houses themselves, which probably explains the dirt. Beds are firm but pillows are flat. Some houses are really private, some are right in the middle of the action. There are loads of activities on the premises (bowling, climbing) but most were booked or closed when we were there, so I can't imagine it in the summer when it's full. Several parks are on the grounds for kids. Pool is big & varied. I don't know that I would go back unless houses were updated &...
