My wife and I had the good fortune to stay with Marlene and Michel in their home in a small town just south of Maastricht. Their hospitality was generous with hot and cold beverages served by them at any time of the day, interesting and informative conversation and a hearty breakfast buffet style. The farmhouse and buildings date from the 1700s. The living portion has been completely redone with wood, slate, marble and elegant decorating. Our bedroom was large (20'x20') with a gorgeous bathroom featuring a large, walk-in shower and modern European fixtures. The living area downstairs was large and decorated with Michel's. The garden was huge and filled with interesting flora tended by the owners. A courtyard with fountain constructed by Michel using stone and statuary centered the farm buildings which are built of marl, brick and timbers. These buildings are being restored to their former state with yellow stucco and black timber framing. Our three days were spent trekking in the nearby hills, motoring in the countryside and visiting the American war memorial and cemetery at Margraten. ||You won't regret a stay at this bed and breakfast in the south east of the...

The furnishings inside the rooms are very well done and the beds amazingly comfortable. The bathrooms are large for European standards. Downstairs there is a sitting room for guests to use. It is like being in a well-appointed sitting room or den. Fireplace, interesting artwork and very comfortable seating. For me, the best part of the B&B were the outdoor sitting areas. There is an outdoor garden with a fantastic magnolia tree and flowers, as well as an enclosed area (but still outdoors) with a fountain in the center.|||| Breakfast is excellent with organic selectios, a variety of coffees, fresh fruit, breads, etc.||||||As well done as things are, Marlena and Michelle have made Bonjour B&B remarkably relaxed and inviting -- which is what someone wants when travelling. They were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to be accomodating and always up for conversation. I would highly recommend...
