OK so something about this place for anyone outside the Netherlands who is considering it.|This is basically a small housing estate where you go for a holiday.|There are 50-100 apartments and houses sleeping from 2-8 spread over a site which must cover several hectares. We had a 1-bedroom apartment; the largest we saw was a detached house in its own grounds sleeping 8 or so.|All the buildings look new - they are in excellent shape. They are built in different styles and materials which makes it seem more like a large village than a holiday resort. There are different "neighbourhoods" - we looked onto the main square near reception; the largest houses were 1/2 a mile away in their own setting.|Our apartment was huge and had its own garden albeit slightly overlooked.|PLUSES|1.Cleanliness - the apartment was spotless|2. Peace & quiet - we never heard a sound from other visitors|3. Value - we paid just over £120 a night including taxes which is crazy for a place of this quality.|4. Heating and ventilation - everything was automatic and kept the place cool on hot days and warm on colder ones.|MINUSES|1. It is 3km from the city centre. We came by train and so ended up walking 1 km to the nearest bus stop to get anywhere. You need a car.|2. Furnishings: as others have said the mattresses are extremely soft - basically foam rubber. Useless if you have a back issue. Towels were a disgrace - thin as paper. We were missing a dining chair - it was never replaced even though we reported it twice. |3. The oven. It is a combined microwave & fan oven. There were no instructions and we never figured out how to use it.|4. Equipment. There was no hairdryer. Nowhere else we have ever stayed didn't have one. There was little or nothing by way of consumables like salt & pepper; washing up liquid; shower gel; only one loo roll; and so on.|5. The on-site shop prices are scandalous. Basically they are holding you to ransom as the nearest supermarket is 1.5km away.||Would we go again ? Basically no for reasons outlined. Howevr if you have a young family and use the on-site facilities like the pool and the golf course it...

We booked their nicest villa for 4 nights. We paid over 2,500 euro for the stay. Everything was great until we walked into our villa. Thats when the trouble started.

On their website they say the villa is child friendly, except that there are classic steep dutch stairs with no baby gate. Not exactly child friendly.

They provided us with enough shampoo and body soap for 1 person for 1 night. Not what I expected for 2500 euro. No dishwasher soap, no hand soap, 4 pods of coffee, 2 sticks of sugar, no garbage bags, etc... they market themselves as a " 5 star resort hotel", yet this is an apartment for rent at best, even airbnbs offfer more. Im shocked they had utensils and plates.

No wifi upstairs. Seriously??

They said we have a "barbecue". What they meant was a hole with a metal plate on top. No coal, no lighter, nothing to barbecue with.

We had to spend 300 euro!!! To stoock up the place just for 4 days as it was completley empty. Absolutely ridiculous.

Fireworks going off non stop. I get its christmas, but we are at a resort, they should have a strict no fireworks rule 24/7.

MOLD!!! We moved the curtsin in the downstairs bedroom to find the entire wall clvered in mold. Our son wa sgoing to sleep there!

We made a reservation through the website, and put in the notes to please give us a charger for our car. When i called to check with them, they said sorry your home doesnt have a charger, and only offered to switch us when i pushed them too.

I paid 2500 euro and they expect me to clean up the place before i leave, do the dishes, empty the dishwasher, take out the garbage down the road, etc.... For 2500 euro?!!?!? I could have done all this for free at home.

Overall its our first night here and we are EXTREMELY unhappy. I do NOT reccomend visiting until they fix...

We booked a 2 bedroom comfort apartment for 2 nights in July. When we arrived the apartment was very warm and not really that clean, lots of dust and the smell was not that great. We know that apartments with a high turn over of people are never perfect so could handle some of the above but the worst were the ANTS, they were all over the living room and kitchen and eventually all over any item we had including food.

We went to reception about this problem on the first night and were told all maintenance staff had left for the day so there was nothing they could do until the morning, no ant powder of anything that would deter them or room move.

It was a tough time getting any sleep with the heat (no aircon) but worse was the thought of the ants everywhere. by the morning we had decided that our time at Dormio was over and packed up to go and find another hotel.

We reported back to reception that we were leaving a day early and they were not too bothered about it to be honest.

After we returned home we asked Dormio for a refund of the night we did not use, which we thought was fair and probably should be more due to stress and it ruining the beginning of our holiday but Dormio, even after seeing the videos and pic, have only offered just under half of the cost of one day which is unacceptable.

The apartment we had was Comfort Apartment number 8 on the ground floor, please check which apartment you will be getting assigned and reject this one.

We would not recommend staying at...

This resort has airy, spacious and well-furnished rooms that look onto beautiful gardens and paved areas that are well lit and secure. The pool and laundry facilities were clean. There are a range of bikes for hire, and a convenient mini supermarket on site with excellent baked goods. Unfortunately, the spa was booked out, and I didn’t get to try the restaurants on site. The resort is a fair distance from the city centre, train stations, and the MECC, which could be beneficial, but be prepared for higher taxi fees and longer commutes. It is also slightly uphill, and quite a walk from the bus stop on the main road, but it is worth the journey by bike. Sometimes you can see squirrels running about! My only complaint is that whilst my travel companions and I were a bit late in the evening coming in from Amsterdam, the concierge could have been more friendly. It was our first time travelling in the Netherlands from Australia. Overall, it is a pretty, quiet resort that’s great value for money. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Dank u wel, Dormio, voor een aangenaam verblijf.

This is a magical accommodation resort in the heart of Maastricht. It offers everything you could want from a holiday. It's nestled in the heart of nature, with tranquil and comfortable homes. The homes are spotlessly clean and well-furnished. The garden is a wonderful place to spend time. Daily necessities are available at the on-site mini market. There are fun parks for children and the Mio Play Adventure. This is definitely a fun resort, especially for a family holiday. We also rented an e-bike from the on-site bike shop and spent the entire day riding around. We highly recommend it to everyone. There's also a thermal spa on site, and discounts are available for those staying overnight. We stayed for three days, but it's a great place, especially for longer stays. The only thing missing from the property was a washing machine and hairdryer. We had one. For those who prefer to do their laundry, there's a washing machine in the common area for a fee. We absolutely loved this place. We plan to stay here every time we come to Maastricht from now on. Hope to see you soon!
