We wanted to visit Amsterdam but with 3 kids including a baby a hotel wasn’t attractive and we were a bit wary of Airbnb... and then we found this place! It is situated in a very peaceful area with a lot of holiday parks, surrounded by flower fields, and a walk from a beautiful, big beach.||The park itself has a reception, swimming pool with a baby area, and a children’s soft play area, as well as a restaurant. There is also a kids’ club but we didn’t use it. The children were delighted with the facilities and had a good time.||The house itself was great: it was spacious, clean (minus a rotting half lemon behind a bedside cabinet - but, fair enough: who checks for lemons in the bedroom?!) and well equipped. The beds were really comfortable and we all slept very well. We noticed this another time we were in Holland: we didn’t have an oven, and we also didn’t have a freezer - so it’s only hot plate and microwave cooking. Frankly I’d have swapped the dishwasher for an oven - but I guess that’s not the preference in Holland. You get a welcome pack of a few household bits and pieces to get you going, which was a nice touch. The house plot was really pretty, as were they all: it’s a beautifully maintained park.||Getting to Amsterdam was easy: we drove to the Sloterdijk park and ride (1 Euro for the day if you buy your tickets into town there - there are rules you have to follow to ensure you get the rate but they’re well explained) and caught tram 19 into town. ||All in all, this was excellent value, and a very comfortable and easy way to spend some time near and in Amsterdam. We would love...
Read moreOur accommodation was, frankly, disgusting, due to extreme lack of cleaning. hairs on the undersheets of the beds, many dead insects on the window sill, huge spider webs/nests in the corners, excessive dust & dirt on the entrance carpet, stains on the bathroom walls, grimy surfaces all over the kitchen, grime and mould in the shower, thick dust on the extractor hood etc etc. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it had never properly been cleaned. The ventilation in the windowless bathroom was also broken so the whole cabin smelled strongly of damp. We complained 5 separate times to reception staff, on the 4th occasion the ventilation was repaired but we never managed to get the cabin cleaned, and the staff appeared to care less and less each time we complained, until they were treating us with blantant contempt. I have emailed repeatedly since returning to try and get Europarcs to admit that our experience was unacceptable and that they would do better in future (or inform future clients that the accommodation is supplied uncleaned) but that has gone in a similarly outrageous fashion, starting with an apology and an offer of €60 refund on a €2300+ bill - and culminating with them telling me that in fact I didn't make my grievances know to reception staff - patently untrue and infuriating. We do not want a pittance of compensation, we want them to admit what they did wrong and undertake to correct this in future. Overall our experience with Europarcs...
Read moreWe stayed 8 nights in a two bed house the bedrooms are small and beds seem narrow but very comfortable and enough clothes storage space. Very clean. The living area did not feel small to me the kitchen was great good quality appliances and everything you need for family meals. Nice outside furniture and beautiful small garden with many pink flowers. ||||The second bedroom had a top bunk with no guard rail my son wanted to sleep on it (he could have slept in a normal single as the room actually slept 3 and we only needed 2 in this room) but we let him try the bunk and padded the floor with the outdoor seat cushions in case he would roll out in his sleep luckily he never fell out as he is a very heavy and still sleeper and not a wriggler! ||||The holiday park has an indoor play area with mini trampolines it adjoins the bar restaurant. The play area was very busy when we were there I think there was a birthday party going on though. We got take away food from the restaurant one night and it was delicious . There is an outdoor climbing frame as well on a sand surface . You can hire bikes from the park . There is a coin operated washing and drying machine you use. There is an indoor pool with one flume and a separate toddler paddle pool. I read that you can use the outdoor pool of the topparken sister site that's just a few minutes drive away but we didn't avail of this option. ||||This is in a lovely area with great...
