The location and facilities are really nice and the “smart” key, check in , check out worked well.
Unfortunately that is the only thing that works. There is no personal service on premise which I have no issue with as long as there is up to date and easy available information and support. That is not the case. The information on the guest card and webpage is not up to date nor easy to follow.
What can improve: We contacted the hotel the day before to ask around food due to Covid and were told they do not support and facilitate that. We were also advised that the reception closes at five if we would order in but they did could not advise if any restaurant would be open for Take Away or delivery.
Upon entering the room the dishwasher wasn’t emptied and full with the previous guests dishes.
In order to connect to the WiFi you are instructed on the guest card to put in a user name. Thus is not correct you need to find the WiFi specific named after your “lodge”. That took a while to appear for us and the speed was very slow.
We called after three for drinks as they said reception would be open until five but no one answered the phone nor via e-mail or on the chat.
Why not have an honesty bar or vending machine if you are not on premise?
information about breakfast is not clear. They place it outside your door but do not knock and you can’t do any special order. I am glad I don’t have any allergies.
Service is important especially if you want...
Read moreFirst of all, the hotel is very modern and well designed. Which is a very welcome alternative to the more conservative hotels lining the Zeeland coast. The rooms are large and comfortable. The Nilson Prestige beds are super comfy and the Rolf Benz furniture elegant and understated. The view from the balcony is fantastic. ||||However, the hotel was supposed to be finished and opening on the 1st of March. We visited late March and were confronted with plenty of things not really up to scratch. The bathroom is all but bare: no amenities (except for shower-gel and lotion), no hair-dryer, no storage posibilities for your stuff, no toilet brush, a single hook for 4 towels, one-layer toilet paper. ||||The website mentioned hotel service but except for breakfast, there are no possibilities to eat or drink at the hotel. Even the mini-bar is empty. The entrance area was flooded upon our arrival, which doesn't make you feel very welcome. During our stay, we only saw the (very friendly) lady at the improvised reception desk. No other employees (except for the workers still fixing stuff) seemed around.||||I am sure that all this will be taken care of in due time and the hotel will show its splendour well before the summer season. However, I didn't like to be a guinea pig for their soft opening and certainly not at the the full rate (I compared with the rates for a stay in off-season November) and left with the nagging feeling not to have quite gotten my...
Read moreFirst, there are many rather negative reviews on this hotel in TripAdvisor and Booking.com. The good news is the management seems to read the reviews and take action so some complaints are solved - the nespresso capsules are refreshed daily, the towels were fresh and clean, the bedding was fresh and clean, there was soap/lotion provided, the breakfast bar was refreshed constantly and the tables were cleaned in between guests very promptly, the rooms were cleaned daily including mopped. So very good to see all the improvements. We were pleasantly surprised. Our only points of attention would be air circulation in the room, - please provide a fan in the warmer months. The room stayed rather cool but fresh air simply did not circulate even with the sliding doors wide open. We were in an apartment and there's a wall blocking the bed from any fresh air. Also the lighting in the bathroom is very poor - maybe provide a light up make up mirror? The reviews also noted the parking was cramped, it was a typical parking lot in Europe in my opinion. Yes cramped, but very doable and were driving a Volvo 7-seater, had no problem. If it rains there is also a lot of water that sits all at the entrance way, it was slippery, I fell, and you really get your shoes very wet. Maybe provide an outdoor broom that guests can help themselves too? There is minimal staff on sight, but I could always reach someone easily by phone. Always pleasant...
