We had a high tea here, but what a disappointment. Besides that it was just a small amount. Way too many sweet thingies with not too much and the same flavours. Hardly any savory, which we had hoped for some breads with different kinds of cheeses and meats, but none of such. No flavour explosion nor surprises...
It had stand for a while already I think as the egg salad had changed colour and dried out a bit already. Personell, though not unfriendly, never came to ask if all was ok or even to ask themselves ifto refill the tea. And yes it was nice weather, but the terrass was not overly full with people that they had too much to do (to my opinion then).
The location is nice, terras with sering trees, birds, butterflies. Walking distance from the beach (ca. 10-15 min), no sea visible though, just some dunes.
Would not recommend this high tea here, found it not worth the price. Other food they serve here I can not tell about, that might be good.
Here the content (sure, taste is personal, perhaps sweet tooths would be ok with so much sweets, I had just expected something else from a high tea) Savory; Small bowl tomato soup, was ok. Small bread with a kroket like thing, not really warm anymore and mustard too soft for my taste, but ok. Dried out small bread with dried out egg salad -flavour ok. A small wrap with what I think was goat cheese, for its colour, but only the rucolla leave had some taste. Then the sweet: A small coffeebread. A small raisin bread/cake like like thing which was too hard baked . (we gave part of this too hard baked to the birds-they seemed to like it) Came with a jam (tasted ok) and some unidentified buttery cream. Chocolatebread, a pie crust wih custard, a chocolate cakepiece, a kind of berliner, a green guess pistache like cake piece, a chocolate eclair wih custard, a sweet cake like piece.
My advice to this Fletcher is to take a good look at what you serve, include different flavours and mor savory, and a bit more royal with the quantity of both the food and...

ITS NOT Possible to check in now the rooms not even been cleaned yet. That's fine I said but I didn't want to know that if you had taken the time to listen to me you would know what I was intending to say !! So l then asked the other receptionist if we could hire two e bikes .... That's not possible was the response not at this time of day..... ok I said can we book for tomorrow?? That's not possible either I don't know if the bikes are available tomorrow come back tomorrow! Ok I said do you have a bike with a children's seat?? No was the response again no child seat available here!! I was very surprised by this response as I thought the hotel was supposed to be good especially since the price for one night was over 200€ and was described as family friendly. The next day we went down for breakfast at 9am breakfast finished at 10am unfortunately lots of things were not available to eat so I asked at the reception if it was possible to have some more bacon to go with the eggs.... I could not believe it when I was told that it was not allowed as it's only filled once and that if I had wanted bacon | SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN UP...
Read moreWe loved our stay at the Duinoord. It was very well run. The breakfast is excellent. The family suite we had was great, the kids were downstairs on the small double and we had the king in the loft. There is one server especially in the restaurant who seems to work every single meal of every single day that really goes above and beyond. The hotel was very accommodating to my weird requests like can i borrow a knife, can i keep this oat milk in your fridge, etc.||We all loved it and are sad to leave after a week!||The location is great, right in the dunes and about 15 minutes walk from the lovely beach. They have a great terrasse too which we used for lunch and drinks with our Dutch friends. It feels like you’re in the middle of nature but really it’s a five minute drive to the centre of Wassenaar or five minute drive...
