We will not be back. A week after moving out we have not had a response to our request for payment to cover the cost of urgent medical attention. This was due to the concussion I was recovering from worsening after I hit my head on the overhanging cupboard unit with its corner in close proximity to the sink. Two staff said they had also hit their heads on it, but had learned to avoid it. Guests who expect a relaxing time should not have to be watching for hazards.
I was also told the splaying chrome dining chair legs that my husband kept tripping on were occasionally bent back into place by staff! The plywood backs of said chairs sloped backwards so we avoided sitting in them anyway. The front door slammed violently shut in the wind while we unpacked the car because the clip for fastening it to the outside wall was broken. On top of all this the armchair was dirty, a bedroom window wouldn’t close and for our last night a large mixed-age group moved in, noisily surrounding our unit and that of another senior couple. If we had known this was to happen, we’d have moved out.
I asked for my medical costs to be paid for by Byron’s and left a copy of the receipt, but after more than a week have heard nothing. We’d have been better to stay home and save the cost of the accommodation and becoming more unwell than I already was. The receptionist was sympathetic and wanting to be helpful, but it seems clear the owners will not invest in this rundown place and care little for the wellbeing of...
Read moreVery average accommodation! Stayed here twice now, first time a few years ago in Room 2 as I turned the heater off before leaving a huge spark came from the wall!!|The 2nd was a real disappointment as well! For the money spent I expects a toilet that flushed well a window that open properly above it (we could not get it to open) and the shower only trickled out! It is also a health and Safty issue as you can not get the temperature right! Either scorching hot or too cold! I could not get the shampoo out of my hair due to the tiny drizzle of water! Not what I was looking forward to for a relaxing night away! The inside of the walls in the bathroom need a good wipe down as marks all over it and even saw bodily hair in a cobweb behind the door! Exterior of weatherboards are extremely dirty and the lawns could do with a mow. When asked how our stay was we mentioned the shower to only be told by the lady ‘oh that’s the first we have heard of it?’ Very disappointing to then later read here a few comments about the showers so she obviously lies and does nothing about it! As everything we found inadequate has also been mentioned as far back as a few...
Read moreWe stayed in Room 3, close to “the pool” as advertised, however, there is no pool. The pool and spa are empty.||||The first thing that will hit you as you enter your room is the musty smelling room followed by a wet welcome mat and cob webs.||||The welcome mat was soaking wet, when lifted there was an old pool of offensive smelling water. The couches are filthy and carpets need cleaning. The toilet did not flush. The light in the kitchen did not work. The window sills needed wiping and curtain is broken and doesn’t open. ||||The toilet door sticks and locks so the toilet was unavailable for use. For the amount you pay, these issues should have been noticed by the managers for maintenance to follow up on.||||The solution suggested by manager and his wife to access the toilet was to boot the door down or forget about brushing your teeth lol 😆. She stormed over bare feet in boxers and began booting the door lol 😂 ||||The most unprofessional and rude managers ever encountered.||||Price should instead reflect the tired, unclean, shanty town it is.||||Bypass this place...
