Chalk Farm Stay — Hotel in North Island

My partner and I recently stayed at Chalk Farm Stay in Kinloch for a two-night nature retreat, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience. The house is perched on a hill with breathtaking views of the mountains, lake, and clear skies. We enjoyed the hot tub, and the host ( lovely Catherine )thoughtfully provided fresh eggs and her delicious homemade cookies. She checked on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, even keeping the heater on in our room so it was warm and cozy. The wood for the hot tub was already prepared, so all we had to do was light the fire. We got engaged during our stay, making it even more special. If we ever visit Taupo again, this is the only place we will stay. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! WOW - we absolutely loved the solitude of this delightful self contained hideaway with stunning rural views across to Lake Taupo. The accommodation is fantastic with everything you could wish for, including a wood fired alpine hot tub. The hosts have thought of everything and we were made to feel very welcome. Kinloch is not far away and we enjoyed pottering around the picturesque village and surrounds and eating out one evening at the local cafe/restaurant. The hosts had thoughtfully provided a tray of delicious goodies, including cereal, fresh farm eggs, lemons and homemade cookies and there was fresh yoghurt and farm milk in the fridge. Stunning hilltop stay, very romantic..., tranquil coupled with the very warm hospitality from the host. The place is tastefully decorated and has a very unique character to it, We had so many choices to sit n enjoy the view/sunset (outside by the fireplace or inside by the fireplace or the hot tub outside or sofa outside). And in the evening, you could lie in your bed and stargaze. Since we are right at the top of the hill, there's absolute privacy. We were initially concerned about the cold as we are from a tropical city state but the host made sure the place is equiped with heating appliances.
