We have stayed before at this motel, this time we didn't eat at the bar, as we were too tired from the journey to Auckland airport. There's little accommodation in the area so it's good that this business is still going. The room decor is nice, the bed was comfy 😀. Tea, coffee were available and a kettle in the room. There is no fridge, so no milk ( the airport hotel we stayed in had powdered creamer, so this could be an option for the business) what isn't probably easy noticed, is that there's a dining/sitting/kitchenette opposite the reception, and Milk is in the fridge. Although it was almost out of date. (And I'm dairy intolerant, but I bring my own soy milk... Luckily no one used what was left so I could have breakfast in the morning) Breakfast was included in our price (says $10 each in the book in the room) there was white bread, toaster, butter, jam, Honey, peanut butter, and marmite 😄. Also cornflakes, weetsbix and Muesli (our choice for breakfast was the Muesli, and I must say it was really nice, my hubby has a lot of dietary restrictions and this Muesli was really clean, low sugar - id love to know what brand it was) I didn't take many pictures but I included the ones I sent to my kids. I was going to book using booking.com but there's no spark signal on the road so we just drove to the place and were lucky that there was a room available 😄

We stayed one night in the motel, the place was really quiet, just what we needed to relax, the beds were super comfortable with the possibility of heating. We took dinner at the restaurant, which is under the same management. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff is helpful and always present with a smile! Super experience! Also, great quality-value!!

Perfect spot if you are looking for a place to stay before the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. The room was extremely clean and the bed was super comfortable! Everyone at reception was very helpful and the restaurant next door is adorable! Definitely head to the Fat Pigeon Cafe for brunch the next day.

You would think that with how popular the glow worm caves are, there would be good places to stay near there. There just isn't. This motel is 35 minutes from the caves in a tiny village. The owners a nice enough. The room a box with the most basic furnishings. It was clean, though the carpet was a bit stained. The a/c barely cooled the room. 25 when I went to sleep and 22 in the morning. While, not the hotel's fault, the power went out at 8:00 am and everything came to a halt. To make things worse, there was no not water for a shower. ||When I checked out, I mentioned this to the front desk and rather than apologize, she kind of shrugged. An apology would have...

Patrick couldn’t do enough for us. Superb rooms. Large, great bedding, towels and toiletries. Good heating and amazing decor.||Pub next door serves excellent food and staff were all incredible. ||We were cycling 120km over the weekend and Patrick was full of tips and even offered to help if we got injured or stuck.
